Bud's Boys Thurs-Fri Even though we don't allow 'gimmes', scoring was up. For the second week in a row, we were able to play all 4 days as the weather held off until our rounds were over. A total of 58 rounds were turned in, a nice total for the week. The group was able to post a score north of +20 combined at the close of Friday play. BB's Health Update On the upside, Allen has been able to return on a fairly regular basis and turned in a couple of Medal winning scores this week.  Westy took a 'miracle shot' in his shoulder allowing him to play a couple of times this week. He played so well he is considering multiple shots on various other parts of his body. He noted it also helps his play when he plays with good players, no offense Leroy. On the downside is Mikey's lingering back issues. It seemed strange not having the regular sight of Mikey stalking the fairways while conversing with himself this week.  Also hoping to return soon, Bill is trying to ...

Bud's Boys News for Wednesday Bingo Winners Collect Their Prize Four of the six winners were present for the prize presentation. Leroy spoke for the group by saying, "It's not how well you play, boys, it's how well your teammates play!" Victory Party Planned Next Tuesday (May 23) The winners are graciously providing drinks and appetizers Tuesday for all players after the round.  June Bingo News By popular demand, we will have a June edition of Birdie Bingo. Teams will be selected using handicap numbers at the close of play Friday May 26. Birdies will count starting Tuesday May 30. We already have 14 players signed up and entry fee paid (still $5). Let me know if you want to be part of the excitement. Remember, you must be signed up and paid by May 26. Wacky Wednesday Results Westy is easily the 'Player of the Day". He hits all 5 par 3 greens to add to his team total of 12 cards. He then turns over a full house to squash a straight and a flush from the ot...

Bingo Bango Bongo With the Turkeys still needing only #7 and the Gophers lacking only 14 and 15, it seemed likely that the Bingo contest could end today. The Turkeys sent 4 men to #7, but all failed, leaving the door open for the Gophers if they could possibly knock 14 and 15 out back-to-back. Though Glen had carried the load on the back 9, he turned the last 2 holes over to 'The Closer', Raymond. Going off in the first group, Raymond sticks his approach on 14 for a 'Bango' tap in birdie, followed by a just off the green hole out on 15 and 'Bongo', Bingo was over. Glen, Raymond, Scott, Mikey, Leroy, and Bill will receive their winnings tomorrow, if present. Congrats to the winners! As for the Turkeys and Beagles: Better luck next time and maybe getting the ball to the hole would help! Tuesday Play In the regular action today, Raymond's birdies pitches in with Medalist Allen (+6) and Bob (+3) to win the Back and Total. To make it a true 'Money Hog' o...

Bud's Boys Week in Review May 9-12 Results for all 4 days of play this week plus some SEMO SR news, injury updates, Bingo update, and a feature segment on the hottest player on the planet who happens to be one of our own. My team won the card game on Wednesday, but this player had an Ace in the hole to finish the week on Friday. Settle in with your favorite beverage, catch up with all the news you have missed, and I dare you to stay awake to the end. BB's Injury Update Jeff passes on the news that Westy has some shoulder issues that may limit his participation in the near future. Check in Westy, I will pass on any updates.  Speaking of Jeff, he and Mikey are battling some back discomfort, causing them to miss some playing time.  I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, but I will pass on some advice given to me by one that could help several of our group.  Stretching. Yes, regular stretching could help prevent some of our nagging discomfort. Here is the most effe...

Bud's Boys Week in Review Genius! We have results from Thursday along with a closer look at some of this week's outstanding performances. Also, some weekend happenings of some of our crew that certainly belong in the 'outstanding' category and Billie Jo is back with a very simple 'Ask Bud's Boys' question. However, we start today with a new award that may occasionally pop up when deserved. In fact, I am awarding myself with the first ever 'Most Fortunate Teammate of the Week' award. In a landslide vote, I earned this award easily as you will read next. Tuesday, I witnessed Scott's hole-in-one and shared in the winnings that came with it. Wednesday, I witnessed my teammates earn enough cards for us to win the card game and Glen the CTP. (Yes, more winnings.) Thursday will be detailed below, needless to say I reaped the benefits of my teammates play. Saturday, I teamed with Tom for the Kimbeland Men's Assoc. Best-Ball Tournament. This will also...

Tuesday and Wednesday Recaps May could not have started in a more exciting fashion! We begin the month Tuesday with the Holy Grail for golfers, the hole-in-one, followed by some crazy good scoring on Wednesday. Here is how it shook out. Bingo update at the end. Tuesday Our reigning 'Champion Golfer of the Year' shows out again. Today Scott adds to his collection of Aces with a beauty of a shot on #6. A self-described knockdown 4 iron into the wind gently drew onto the green, landed, and rolled straight into the cup for his 6th career hole-in-one.  This easily led his team to a +7 victory on the Front. Randy's CTP gives the team half of today's pot. Other performances worth mentioning today includes Raymond's trifecta on the front. 3 birdies, pars, and bogeys on his first nine adds up to an even-par 18 points.  John joined Scott as one of the 3 Medalists with a +8. His 19 points on the Back gave his team that victory and enough to win the Total. Keith was the 3rd Med...
