After 6 days of inactivity, 20 BB's shuffled in, some sooner than others, for a full tilt shoot out. Mother Nature delayed us about 15 minutes on the back with a nice little shower. Most of us just waited it out underneath protection. Doc's group decided to play a little hide-and-seek. Raymond never found Clint. Big Winners of the Day These guys took 2 of the 4 events. Westy takes 2nd CTP in a Row Westy becomes the 5th player in the last month to win 2 straight CTP's. Will he dare show up tomorrow to complete the Floyd? Being BB's 'Most Interesting Man', it is quite possible he will be doing other things. Guitar picking, flower picking, cooking, building an airplane, who knows what stirs inside.  Okay, that might be a stretch, but all need to come out to protect the 'Floyd'. Good job, Raymond, Medalist (+5) and top point producer (35). Word From Billie Jo about White Kight Friday "Friday has been designated 'White Kight' day in appreciation ...

Wednesday Results Founding Fathers Norm and Allen worked some old magic on the course today, tying each other for Medalist at +5. This led their teams to win 2 and a 1/2 of the 4 events. Westy's 3rd CTP of the year gives him and Bob a big cut of the pie as teammate Doc had to bow out at the turn with back trouble. Medical Update: Doc will go on IL (injured list) for a few days. will endeavor to return ASP. Tuesday Revisited I would like to clean up a few things from Tuesday that time did not allow me to put in yesterday. First, Kudos to Roger for taking Medalist his first day back. He expects to join us on Tuesdays and Thursdays while rehabbing on the other days. Story of the day comes from, who else, Leroy. After his round Tuesday, Leroy made a request to Scott, our resident estate planner and overall problem solver. Leroy stated (loud enough for all to hear) "Scott, I want you to make sure that when my time comes to be sure two certain people are on the pall bearers list. I...

Roger Returns! 97 Day Wait Is Over! It was April 27 the last time Roger teed up for a competitive round with BB's. So, it was great sight to see him back in action on this mild, then hot, then wet day of golf. He could not be unhappy with his +5 scoring with only a slightly modified hcp number. He could be unhappy with the mostly crappy play of his partners, however. All in all, it was a positive step in his recovery, and the group was certainly glad to welcome him back. Tonight was my high school class every other month get together in which I stayed a little too long. Thus, I am cutting this edition a little short but will get in all the material I intended to post tonight in tomorrow or Thursday's edition.

So, it is only reasonable we have a big year end shootout for it to be claimed by 'Bud's Boys Champion Golfer of the Year'. The secret committee met this past week and here are some of the not yet finalized details. Will be held early October, dates TBD. Will be 2-day event. Will be played per BB's rules (not Semo Seniors). If you play ball up regularly, you can noodle the ball, you cannot move it 2 feet to get out of trash or around a tree or improve your stance. Hcp number will go up or down after 1st day as normal. Trophy goes to player with best net score over the 2 days. We are still kicking around the subject of who qualifies to enter. We want everybody t...

Birthday Bash Brings Birdies-20, then Buckets-3 Bud's Boys celebrated Leroy's 74th birthday party a day early in a daylong celebration. Those lucky enough to get an invitation were encouraged to wear yellow (or something close to yellow), Leroy's favorite color of golf attire. Thinking back to my younger days, yellow was a derogatory term in all the Westerns I watched. As in, "You gonna pull that gun or are you yellow?"   And traffic light yellow meant caution, slow down. Of course, as I got older, I learned a yellow light meant go faster. And check out this newest description of the effects of yellow. No denying the effects today as most were indeed alert and energized on course, and activity and interaction post round was something to see. The Birthday Boy provided his partygoers with a variety of Kimbeland appetizers and a couple of buckets to wash them down (Thank you, Saint Dawn, for advancing Leroy's allowance). Tom added another Bucket for backup and Ra...
