Bud's Boys Count Your Blessings Issue

Everyday should be a 'CYB' day but some days you realize it a little more. More on that later.

Halloween is coming soon, and we have the Coors golfer haunting our course.

Friday Rabbit Chase

The greens were fast and furious once more and the total group score of minus 24 reflected as much.

Kudos to Doc (+4) and Dean (+3) for shooting on the plus side of their handicap numbers in the tough conditions. Special shout out to Glen and Butch for breaking their streaks of minus golf with a +3 for Butch and a Medalist best +5 for Glen.

Butch jarred his birdie putt on hole #9 to catch the Rabbit.

Glen wins his 3rd CTP of October.

Count your Blessings Indeed

Way back in March, the woman I am related to by Marriage, insisted I buy a safer vehicle as my not-so-great driving skills were not going to improve.
So, I thought I would treat myself for the first time since the 70's and buy a brand-new vehicle, a truck. As some remember, it only took 13 days for another vehicle to wipe the new feeling away with a fender bender and life moved on with my still pretty nice truck.

On Friday night at around 9:45, for the second time in my life I called Shelly and said, "First off, I am fine", and I quickly added, "So is Michael, we are okay."

I had picked my son up at the St. Louis airport and we were on the way home. Cruising along at 73 mph, as we were in no big hurry, we passed the Old Appleton exit as we neared home. All I can say is that I saw the flash of an object jump from the side into our path and then the airbags and the dust released from them after impact made it difficult to get the vehicle safely off the road. I had killed my first deer.

Not sure when I will be back to golf. Have to deal with insurance and what to do for a vehicle. Trooper opined that the truck is totaled and if not repairs would take quite a while. Who knows what I may be driving next as this truck was supposed to be my last purchase. As for golf, like the rest of you, it will be a day-by-day decision.

Not that it is necessary but here are a couple of pics of the scrapes the airbags caused.

Not sure how my hands were positioned at impact, but this is the result.

Lower airbag got my shin.

An absolute random accident that happened, thank goodness for the safety features on the vehicle. The wife knows best.

Will post a picture of the truck later.
