Dean carries these 3 (fill in the blank) to 2 victories by winning Medalist and CTP on Medalist Thursday. So long for now!

Wednesday Matchplay Results The first round of our Matchplay Tourney was completed Wednesday. Rick took out Butch on Tuesday and Doc put the choke hold on Jeff today. There were also a couple of 2nd round matches played. Three of our Final Four slots have been filled with only a 2nd round match between Doc and Raymond left to determine the 4th. Clint claims the Norm Hayden Regional with a win over Rick, setting up a semi-final meeting with Tom. KZ takes Allen down to finish atop the Allen Hill Regional. This sets up a showdown with Raymond for a trip to the Final Four. Details of regular play Tues. thru Fri. will be delayed as I have several things going through the weekend. Hope to find the time soon. One streak ended today that is a real downer (to me). My streak of 13 days with a new truck ended today. After picking up my son after golf today, someone in a real hurry couldn't wait an extra second to let me pass and clipped me on my back end. Now I just have a truck No one hurt.

Remember: Tuesday Olive Garden 6:00 All BB's Invited Last Friday was a rare day of calm winds and the scores reflected as such. Those scores were gone with the wind, a very strong, consistent wind. Nobody reached the +2 mark to raise their handicap. Kudos to Butch and Mikey, our co-Medalists for reaching +1 in tough conditions. All 3 teams tied at -5.5 on the Front. KZ, Scott, and Clint win the Back and Total by the slim margin of 1 point. KZ took the CTP to give the team it's 3rd event. Butch and Doc both birdie 13 to snare the Reverse Rabbit.

Bud's Boys Sunday Edition Just like our old newspaper days, our Sunday paper is a little thicker. The computer is back up and running so we have 3 days of play to catch up with. But first, a reminder that this Tuesday, March 26, we are having our 'Masters Champions Dinner'. Doc has secured a private room at Olive Garden and all BB's and spouses are invited. We gather at 6:00. (That means 5:45 for Dean and John and other stragglers.) This is just a chance to socialize a little outside the confines of the golf course. Olive Garden, Tuesday 6:00 Bring your appetites and enjoy a couple hours with the 'Boys'. I suspect our behavior will be a little better than usual with the ladies present.  Current BB's Champion Golfer Raymond will be fixing his favorite meal for the occasion, but everyone may choose to order off the menu if desired. Wednesday March 20 Great weather brought out 20 BB's to participate in the Weds. Card Game. We didn't have room for John,

Match Play has started with 5 of the 8 opening round matches complete. Allen, KZ, Roger, Tom, and Clint advance. More details to come this weekend. Good news for me is my computer is back up and running. The bad news is the Russians did indeed hack our homepage and steal all our heavily guarded handicap numbers. All players will be assigned a new number based on your potential. For example, Clint scored 34 points Wednesday, so his new number is 34 as that is his potential. Have no fear, all numbers will be fairly chosen. Hang on, seems the numbers were just misplaced, not stolen. Might as well go with our regular system.

Nine brackets have been filled out so far, get yours filled out by Thursday. Make your own bracket if you can't get to the course to pick one up. Text me a picture of your picks. Bracket printed below for your convenience. And anyone can play, not just the participants. The winner of the Bracket Challenge gets this PGA Tour hat filled with money ('filled' is a pretty loose term here). Only $1 to fill out a bracket for those not in the actual tournament. The Sports Curmudgeon makes his picks below after a recap of Tuesday's action.  Tuesday March 19 Everyone was a winner today as each of the 3 teams claimed at least one event. The temperature today was great, but the sharp biting wind didn't abate much as the day went on. Individually, Raymond Claimed another CTP, Clint's birdie on 14 wins the skin. Roger wins Medalist (+5), his 3rd in his last 3 rounds. His drive on 14 got through the trees ending up at the white posts, 30 yards from the green. His best play,

St. Pat's Day Sunday 3/17

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. The person who best predicts the outcome of all the matches will get some yet undetermined special prize, fitting the magnitude of such an event. Here are the participants and their region. In the Allen Hill Regional, Allen himself will square off with Randy. The winner will face the survivor of the Glen vs. KZ matchup. In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. The Bud Marshall Regional has Scott and Roger facing off with the winner going up against the Bob vs. Tom match. T

Tuesday 3/12 Scoreboard Bob wins CTP. Keith and Randy Co-Medal with +5. Randy's birdie on 11 wins the skin. Three teams split FBT. Tom ponders, Decides he can hit it out of the ditch. Scorecard says he got a par. Jeff is presented with his prize for being February player of the month. An older Scotty Cameron wooden putter like his own. Quote of the day comes from Butch. "Jeff, this will be a nice addition to your trophy case, as I'm sure there is plenty of room for it." Weds 3/13 Great scoring day as all 5 teams finish plus. Only 2 of today's 17 players fail to reach their number. Raymond wins CTP. Roger Medals with +7. Rodney turns a diamond flush to win card game. Scott's King high straight breaks a 3-way tie for the Back. That's all folks.
