Tuesday March 19

Nine brackets have been filled out so far, get yours filled out by Thursday. Make your own bracket if you can't get to the course to pick one up. Text me a picture of your picks. Bracket printed below for your convenience. And anyone can play, not just the participants.

The winner of the Bracket Challenge gets this PGA Tour hat filled with money ('filled' is a pretty loose term here). Only $1 to fill out a bracket for those not in the actual tournament.

The Sports Curmudgeon makes his picks below after a recap of Tuesday's action.

Tuesday March 19

Everyone was a winner today as each of the 3 teams claimed at least one event. The temperature today was great, but the sharp biting wind didn't abate much as the day went on.

Individually, Raymond Claimed another CTP, Clint's birdie on 14 wins the skin. Roger wins Medalist (+5), his 3rd in his last 3 rounds. His drive on 14 got through the trees ending up at the white posts, 30 yards from the green.

His best play, however, was his par on 6 from the 5th fairway cart path after a little shankapotamus from the tee.

Sports Curmudgeon Picks

I see Allen winning his own Regional by beating two 30-point players in Randy and Glen.

In the AM regional, I see Jeff use his mind games on Doc to advance. In a very tough opening round draw, I believe Raymond's Major Championship experience will overcome the sangfroid of Leroy. Jeff's Woody putter is extremely hot now, so I see him edging Raymond who has not recovered from the exhausting battle with Leroy.

In the Bud regional, I see an upset with Roger (+7,+7,+5 in his last 3 rounds) outlasting former Major Champion Scott. Roger continues his sizzling play with a victory over Tom who has to go 18 holes to edge by Bob.

In the Norm Regional, Butch and Dean win first round matches with Butch moving on by defeating Dean while constantly badgering Dean about his score keeping abilities.

The Semi-finals are set with Allen vs. Jeff and Roger vs. Butch.

Jeff advances to the final by taking Allen down with some not so sportsmanlike tactics. Seems when Allen asks for help on the whereabouts of his ball, Jeff uses the 'You're getting warmer' method which raises Allen's anxiety level.

In the other semi-final, Butch advances over Roger as Roger's streak of hot play comes to an end. A little birdy tells me Butch shames Roger into losing by constantly suggesting Roger shouldn't take advantage of such a poor old golfer.

The final is set. Mr. January vs. Mr. February. The 2 biggest money winners vying for the big prize. No surprise there.

The blow-by-blow match comes to an end with Jeff coming out on top in his typical fashion. He plays like crap but wins when Butch plays worse when he realizes he has no teammate to bail him out.

And that, is the rest of the story.
