Westy Brushes Off the Competition Westy handily wins Medalist, his +9 score 5 strokes clear of Doc's 2nd place +4. In his post round press conference, he noted that, "I don't always score 33 points, but when I do, I make sure there are enough players (we had 19 today) to make it worth my while." His performance wins the Team Total and a split of the Back 9. Glen's 20 points on the Front 9 leads his team to that victory. Doc's 19 on the Back 9 leads his team to the other half of the split. Rodney snuggles his tee shot to a Red Flag on 18 close enough to claim another CTP. Westy closed his comments by urging everyone to enjoy the evening and come back tomorrow to play the Wednesday card game.

Weekend Edition My old boss had a great line when someone accused him of gossiping. He would defiantly puff out his chest and announce, "I am NOT  gossiping, I am only repeating what I heard." With that in mind, the following is just something I heard. Rodney was playing by himself recently when he reached the 18th hole. He had trouble lately getting over the water, so with that in mind, he pulled out an old, scuffed ball to make his attempt. As he teed it up, he heard a deep solemn voice say, "Use a new ball, Rodney!'' Rodney turned around and looked but could see no one. As he turned back to the ball, the voice called out, "Rodney, have faith in yourself, use a new ball!" Rodney, suddenly brimming with confidence, reaches into his bag for a new ProV1, and tees it up. He steps away from the ball and takes his practice swing, to which the voice responded, "On second thought, use the old ball." This is the last weekend edition for August as an

Heat Wave is Officially Here We will start with a quiz. What is the difference (besides the trophy) between Raymond and Lucas Glover in Memphis? Raymond netted $2 bucks as opposed to Lucas winning 2-gazillion for wearing soggy bottoms. Rick was runaway Medalist with a +8. He teamed up with Bob (+4, 19-points on the Front) to win Front and Total. Randy wins the CTP.

Upcoming Week Notes, BB's in the J&J, Friday Results and More! This week Notes Tee Times start at 9:50 every day. Heat index will be brutal. We must be sensible about this. Raymond has already suggested '9 & dine'. I have thoughts about an 11-hole event or a 12-hole event. Depending on how many show on Tuesday, surely we can plan a reasonable event. Bud's Boys at the Jack's & Jennie's For those curious how the boys did this weekend, Tom, Westy, and Floyd were the big winners $$$$. Here is the rundown. Wednesday and Thursday Results Wacky Wednesday Card Game We divided the 18 players into 6 3-man teams for a card game shootout. Individual play was a little shoddy as only our Co-Medalists Mikey and Jeff scored well enough (+6) to see their hcp# go up.  Special mention to Dean and Westy as the only other players to finish in the plus with a pair of +1's. Jeff and Westy's performance along with Rick's even round win them the Back and Total. Raymond salvages his team's very suspect -15 with a tee shot to 1.5 inches on 18 for the CTP. The Card game was dominated by this man. Jeff sets record for most cards earned in a single day with 8. He hit all five greens and birdied 3 of them to earn more cards than 3 of the TEAMS participating today all by himself. His teammates added 5 more to make them the favorites, Westy deals the cards. Rodney's team falls short, as Jeff's team indeed wins with a Full House. (Ed. note: Randy's new number is 33, not 32) Thursday A ske

Tuesday Results Cart Path Only kept our number at 11, on a rather cool August morning. If we kept detailed records, a couple of them would likely have been set today.  A 4-person team won the Front today (by 6 strokes!) despite posting 4 beagles (zeroes) on hole #8. Doesn't seem likely that has happened.  A 4-person team wins the Back by improving TWENTY-THREE points over their Front (40 vs 63). Seems unlikely that much improvement has occurred. Glen takes today's Triple Crown. Most points, Medalist (+4), and CTP. Special Mention to Westy (+2) and Scott (+1) as the only other players to finish on the plus side of the ledger.

Bud's Boys Weekend News & Report  This is what Bud's Boys is all about. Relaxing after another great round with our beautiful course in the background. Nice Pic, Doc. BB's News Let's keep Bill in our thoughts as he is dealing with some health issues. Doc is keeping abreast of the situation. Upcoming BB's Activity Looks like we will begin Bingo III sometime this month, as soon as we have 18 signed up. Let me know if you want in. October will be the big 'Champion Golfer of the Year' tournament, so I am thinking of a September event to bridge the gap between those 2 events. Perhaps a Ryder Cup type event to coincide with the real one being contested next month in Italy. Any thoughts or ideas will be strongly considered by the secret activity committee. Thursday Play After yet another rainout Wednesday, 15 BB's clocked in for work on a cart path only day. A Thursday edition of Wacky Weds. produced just that, a very wacky card game. All 52 cards were earn
