Sunday August 27

 Weekend Edition

My old boss had a great line when someone accused him of gossiping. He would defiantly puff out his chest and announce, "I am NOT gossiping, I am only repeating what I heard."

With that in mind, the following is just something I heard.

Rodney was playing by himself recently when he reached the 18th hole.
He had trouble lately getting over the water, so with that in mind, he pulled out an old, scuffed ball to make his attempt. As he teed it up, he heard a deep solemn voice say, "Use a new ball, Rodney!'' Rodney turned around and looked but could see no one. As he turned back to the ball, the voice called out, "Rodney, have faith in yourself, use a new ball!" Rodney, suddenly brimming with confidence, reaches into his bag for a new ProV1, and tees it up. He steps away from the ball and takes his practice swing, to which the voice responded, "On second thought, use the old ball."

This is the last weekend edition for August as another month slips away. Thankfully, the heat will take a break next week, allowing us to get back to our normal routine.

No Golf Friday Sept 1

There is a tournament this Friday so make your golf plans for Tues., Weds., and Thurs. Scott has a suggestion for Thurs. play so you do not want to miss that.

All tee times this week are the usual 9:50.

We tried to play it safe this week when we did attempt to play.

We had 11 play a 10-hole event on Wednesday, and 8 played a similar event on Friday. Bob and Glen each added a CTP to their total. Keith returned from his summer sabbatical, ready for some BB's action.

On Thursday, only Glen and Westy dared to tee it up. They had a one-on-one match with results still pending.
