 Westy Brushes Off the Competition




Westy handily wins Medalist, his +9 score 5 strokes clear of Doc's 2nd place +4.

In his post round press conference, he noted that, "I don't always score 33 points, but when I do, I make sure there are enough players (we had 19 today) to make it worth my while."

His performance wins the Team Total and a split of the Back 9.

Glen's 20 points on the Front 9 leads his team to that victory.

Doc's 19 on the Back 9 leads his team to the other half of the split.

Rodney snuggles his tee shot to a Red Flag on 18 close enough to claim another CTP.

Westy closed his comments by urging everyone to enjoy the evening and come back tomorrow to play the Wednesday card game.

In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. Mother's Day 5/12

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
