This was a very tough day. Doc loses long time; dear friend Ron and Mark Roger is awaiting bypass surgery as I compose this edition. As Doc said this morning, every day is a blessing and let's appreciate those around us. Doc and Roger are in our thoughts today. I hope the following gives you a few minutes away from the more serious and important. Bud's Boys, The Musical Today's round started quite differently than usual, as Bob and Allen sang a little duet on the first tee. Now I myself didn't think it was half bad all things considered. However, when I tried to post it, I received a stern warning from Google that they have a minimum standard, and they proceeded in deleting it. Nonetheless, we have our theme for the day, Bud's Boys the musical. We will dedicate songs throughout the post. Let's get started. Great news to have Rodney come out to play 9 holes, his first time playing with us since Feb 21. Playing partner Mikey thought he did very well, considering

Wacky Weds Lives Up to Name. Only one way to start tonight's edition. Did someone really Ace no. 18? This is Josh somewhat coolly picking his ball out of the hole after his first career hole-in-one on 18. He was still in a bit of shock when I asked for a comment. He gathered himself enough to say, "I guess the only thing better than a hole-in-one is a hole-in-one on the CTP hole when someone else has a shot a foot away" (sorry, Glen). Congrats to Josh and his team. The happy foursome. The Wacky Play of the Day engineered by Scott was won by team Rick with his birdie on 3. If no team would have birdied, we would have gone to double bogeys to see who won. That gave everyone a chance! Glen and Randy tied for most points with 34, Brandon and Randy tied for Medalist with +6. Although his +5 came up 1 short of Medalist, it was enough for Leroy to lead his team to the FBT sweep. Leroy finally gave us a couple of minutes to explain his remarkable recent play. "I have starte

Temp hits 80, Sunny Skies! Gathering on first tee. Floyd, Doc, and Scott discuss medications (and effects) Still a little windy, but the warm temps brought 17 players out for 5-dollar Friday. Sadly, one not present was Mikey, who missed for the first time in over a month. Jeff thought he saw him wandering around on the outskirts of the course. For the day, the group scored exactly their number of points needed. Even par, if you will. Bob gets his 2nd CTP of the year, winning his team a share of the day's pot. Glen's play continued to rise along with the temperature. He followed yesterday's top performance with most points again today (35). His 20-point front 9 included birdie on 9, winning the Rabbit. His teammate Leroy, however, was the top performer. His Co-Medalist +6 was his second top score of the week, leading their team to wins on front and total. I asked Leroy if he could give us some insight on his recent success. Leroy's response: " I will be glad to sha

Type the letters AAA in your Google search and you will get travel info, insurance, membership, blah, blah, blah. Here in Bud's Boys world today, AAA was Big A (Glen), Middle A (John), and Little A (Jeff). Their performance left the rest of us feeling like a flat tire, dead battery, and cracked windshield rolled into one. Big A's triple crown performance (Medalist +6, most points 34, and CTP), combined with plus scores from Middle and Little resulted in the total hit and run of all the cash. They certainly earned their nicknames today. We started with 12, unfortunately only ended with 11. After a couple birdies, and subsequent nip of fireball, all seemed well. Was Norm's decision to top that with a hot dog at the turn the cause of his sudden, shall we say, car sickness? Get better Norm.

Sandy Greens Invitational Ends in Historic Tie! Actually, the aeration of the greens continued, and we played back 9 twice while the crew finished up on the front 9. On the course, 11 players braved the cool windy day and scoring ended in the plus column with a modest +2. Mikey is player of the day, winning Medalist honors (+5) and sharing most points (30) with Raymond. Shelly spoils Raymond's attempt at his 7th CTP, edging him out to claim her 2nd. The Historic Tie Not in my memory has there been an 11-way tie. This is how it broke down. The 3-man team wins back for 1 cut. the two 4-man teams split the other 3. The math worked out that each player got back their entry. No more, no less. An 11-way tie!  Milde Officially Sworn In Doc officially started his duties Tuesday night as newest member of Kimbeland Board of Directors. I asked him if he would like to comment for tonight's edition. Doc: "First, I certainly want to thank everyone for their support. I so deeply appreci
