Friday Results, Member Updates, Golf Tips, and Blog Advice Welcome to the late Friday Weekend Edition. We will start with an update from our Medical, Health, and Well-being reporter Leroy. Take it away Leroy. LEROY: Checked in with Stan and he is doing okay. Doing things around the house, a few back issues but apparently nothing bad. Doc tested negative, just a sore throat from playing in the cold. I have two words for you guys with sore muscles and general aches and pains. TIGER BALM! (Just ignore the smell) That's all for today. STAY STRONG everyone. Thank you, Leroy. Also visited with Bob at our post round meeting in the clubhouse. His back is not responding as hoped. He will be a day-to-day decision. Jeff was successful in his match Friday, another free dinner. More on that later. Amazingly, we played all 5 days this week. Eighteen different golfers combined for 51 rounds. Friday was probably the best day weather wise but only 7 showed, others scared off by a miserable forecas...

We will start with news about some of our group. Bob and Doc are on the unable to perform list (golf version). Bob is fighting sinus and back issues. He wishes us well and hopes to return next week. Doc is battling a sore throat. I talked with him today and he definitely sounds like he needs a few days to recover. He did wish to share this shot of today's sunset.   Some of you have asked the whereabouts of John. Guess who I saw at the driving range today, working on his game? Schedule and weather have not allowed him to join us yet. Expects to make his 2022 debut soon. Jeff has been watching it rain for several days down in Florida but hopes to get out and play tomorrow. He has a big match with some retired cops. Good luck Jeff, send pics and let us know how you fare. By the way, good idea to get in good with the men in blue, although a little late. Floyd wanted me to send this picture to remind you what sunshine looks like. We are still waiting for Stan, Norm, Keith, Westy, ...

STAR WARS EDITION Andy tries to use the "FORCE" to stop Rodney's light-sabre attack. Just kidding, Star Wars Day isn't until later this summer. Better weather brought out better play today for the five 3-person teams on Wednesday. The group scored a plus 21 points collectively, quite an improvement over yesterday's minus15. Big winners Randy, Raymond and Mikey bagged 98 points, led by Raymond's game high 35.  Raymond and Mikey celebrate their birdies on 7 with a double shot. Other highlights include Raymond's 2nd CTP of the young season. Rodney back-to-back birds on 7 and 8, Roger the same on 12 and 13. Glen and Rodney 3 birdies on the day. Roger is Medalist with an impressive +8. Honorable mention to Mikey +6, Scott and Josh +5. Great birdie for Leroy on 18, hope it brings him back tomorrow. Mikey tries to console Andy and Tom on their disappointing day by giving useful tips and bragging about his own stellar play. Results and numbers

The final total of 12 participants included 3 players making their first appearance of the new year. Cool temps, more wind than yesterday, and signs of rust combined to hold the group score at a minus 15 for the day. These conditions did not hold down our medalist Rodney at +6 nor runners up Mikey and Rick at +5. Rick, Glen, and Tom tied for most points with 31. Tom wins the CTP with the very last tee shot of the day on 18. The team favored to win today prepares to tee off. They finished second to this bunch Sorry for the glare, picture not taken by a professional. Here is a better pic of Andy and Rodney. I have to admit that after looking at this picture, I had this crazy feeling that I had seen it before a long time ago but can't figure out what I am thinking. Maybe it will come to me in time. Results and numbers follow.

As I read my text from the club this morning, my mind took me back to a childhood TV program. "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise" was one of Gomer Pyles' favorite lines, and I was indeed surprised to see the course open for play. Temps reached the 40's, light winds and full sun made for a quite pleasant round. The course was not a soggy mess at all, drier way beyond my expectations. I expect a bigger turnout of players tomorrow if the weather is similar to today. The round did start with some frozen ground, tough to put the tee in the ground on occasion. Ice still glazed some areas of the ponds. Six players teed off with Roger, Glen, and Doc taking on Mikey, Randy, and Tom A. Roger admires Glens' tee shot on 1. There was no match to speak of as team Doc runs away with all 3 bets and Roger adds the CTP for the total takedown. Roger and Glen share Medalist at +4, Glen and Tom most points with 32. Doc patiently waits for me to extract my 4 dollars from its hiding place. ...

Weather Report, Rules Quiz, Fashion Corner, Trip back to 1973 If you are watching the PGA tourney playing in Hawaii as I am, you are anxious to get back to swinging the clubs as soon as possible. These scenes are a slight improvement over the view of my back yard a couple of days ago. Watching these pros shooting lights out has, of course, cured all my bad habits and improved my putting to the point that I am fairly sure I'll never hit another bad shot. At least not from my couch. No rain in the forecast for several days but who knows when it will be dry enough to let us on the course. Tuesday looks sunny but cold and windy. Same on Wednesday. Thursday looks like a go. To play sooner depends on your golf anxiety level (I am sure there will be some that will play).  Rules Quiz  Try to give your decision before you get to the answer. This comes from GOLF Magazine (I have tried to splice it together). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ...
