 August is here!

As I am typing this on Sunday August 2, it is 70 degrees with a 12 mph NNW wind. Reminds me of golfing in Montana a few years back.

Fear not, the heat will return. A lot to get to today, here is the rundown.

We celebrate our Bingo winners on Tuesday. In other words, we will hand out their cash winnings. Must be present to win! 

Tuesday July 28 - Doc hotter than the temperature!

Doc's 36 points result in the top score for the month of July, a +10! His birdie on #6 wins the Random Skin.

It was a Little League type of day as all participants won a prize.

Wednesday July 29 - Leroy Birthday Extravaganza!

Yellow was the color of the day as twenty-two players teed off and 4 more BB's on the 'unable to play right now' list joined us post round to pay tribute to Leroy, our fabled, long-time overseer of rules and regulations. Although the birthday boy measured up well with a +3, there was too much competition for his team to win. 

Brian's Medalist best +8 handed his team a victory on the Front 9 and Don's CTP gave his team a portion of the prize money. 

The other 3 events were taken by Tom, Floyd, Dean, and Ray. Tom's 3-under par 39 points were enough of a boost to top the other squads on the Back 9 and the Total. Floyd turned a Full House in the Card Game (dealt by Scott who was able to visit as he recovers from surgery) to finish the competition.

In a genius move, Leroy treated his guests to Root Beer floats to cool everyone off after the round.

Shot of the day belonged to Doc who eagled #15 from around 100 yards.

Thursday July 30 - Last round of July

Bill H wins Medalist honors on Medalist Day as his team takes 4 of today's 5 events. Don wins his second straight CTP, and third in his last four rounds. He will try to join the 'Floyd' club on Tuesday if he has the courage and intestinal fortitude.

July Review

July saw us play 14 times, with 30 different BB's completing 234 rounds, about 17 per day.

We wrapped up a very successful Bingo Game, closest finish on record. Here are some notes and figures for the month.

Don played all 14 days, Ron and Glen played 13.

Tom was the money leader both gross and net. His $107 in winnings netted him $47.

Floyd netted $27, Bill H $21, and Roger $20.

Match Play 2026

We had a successful Bingo in July, and we have the Champion Golfer of the Year tournament coming in September, so I thought we could squeeze in a Match Play tournament in August.

No worries, it is free, we are playing for the title of 'Match Play Champion 2026'. If you still do not want to participate, you just forfeit. If you are not listed in the bracket it is because it was deemed you not to be a frequent player. You are welcome to enter if you make the effort to show up more often. There are gaps in the bracket to add players.

I believe Doc was the previous winner in our first attempt. This will be our second go round.

The brackets were set for you to play someone with the same or nearly same number the first couple of rounds. Strokes are given for the difference in numbers the day you play. Have Fun.
