Bud's Boys Flag Day Edition
At least one history source claims Flag Day was first conceived by a schoolteacher in Wisconsin in the late 19th century. Through the efforts of many other advocates, it was officially established by a proclamation from President Woodrow Wilson in 1916 and permanently signed into law by Harry Truman in 1949.
Flag Day is not an official federal holiday (not on the mailman's list of days off), but Pennsylvania observes it as an official state holiday.
It is also my birthday. I am officially 70 years old today. Could be a little depressing but just this week, an attractive young lady wanted my number. My blood pressure number. Don't have the energy I used to, that's for sure. Just this week my still young and lovely wife suggested we go upstairs and 'you know'. I said I could 'do that' or I could go upstairs, I can't do both.
A little perspective here. Our country has its 250th birthday next month. I have lived, or experienced if you will, over a quarter of our nation's history, 28% to be exact. Ray and Dave have experienced more than a third, 35% to be exact (They missed the Civil War but caught most everything else). This tells us two things. Number one, our country is relatively young and number two, we are old. Enjoy your Flag Day and let's celebrate and appreciate our upcoming 250th birthday.
Tuesday June 9
Our first Royal Flush in some time, at least with more than 2 teams.
Dave, Doc, and Ron score a modest +2, -1, +1 to sweep the FBT. They took advantage of some pretty dreadful scores on a soggy Tuesday. Dave's +3 was a Medal winner, and Doc took inspiration from last week's blog to earn his first CTP of 2026. Doc's birdie on #9 completed the 5-event sweep by winning the Random Skin.
Wednesday June 10
Birthday Party for Randy and Jeff. Food, drink, prizes, and golf were enjoyed by all. And don't forget the ice cream cake provided by Ron, always the best part of a party.
Scores improved over Tuesday with Raymond at the top with a +5. The three names in the above paragraph combined for the best Total, a +10. They also took the Card Game with a Full House.
Clint wins the CTP and teams with Glen and Floyd to capture the Front 9 with an impressive +7.5.
Rick won the birthday prizes on the course. Cash for CTP on 7 and a Stan Musial bobblehead for CTP on #8.
Thursday June 11
Great scoring day led by a +7 from Floyd. Raymond had a 2nd consecutive +5 and Glen, Roger, Jeff, and Ray all tallied a +4.
Ray, the last player in the last group of course, steals the CTP from Don to end the round.
Doc's birdie on #10 snares the Rabbit.
Let's take another peek back to see what the Boy's looked like in 2022. Blogs from the 10th and 14th.

Happy Flag Day
I was about 10 when I found out that flags were not put up because it was my birthday, but something called 'Flag Day'.
Yes, today was my 66th BD and since Jeff also turns 66 on Friday, we made today our own little birthday party.
I wanted a new driver for my birthday but got this shirt instead. Thanks Hon, I love it.
Fifteen players rolled up to join the party.
Bill, Raymond, and Dean were hotter than the 98-degree temp winning the front with a sizzling +11.
They refused comment on their -5 Back 9.
Shelly, Anita, and 3-birdie Westy take Total. Westy also wins bonus 6 on 6 (CTP on hole 6 today)
Scott, Andy, and Glen win Back and CTP with Andy's only good shot of the day.
Although the Birthday Boys were shut out of prize money, Randy totals most points (33), and Jeff takes Medalist +6 which of course are more important than winning cash.
Jeff proudly displays his Gold Medal.
Rick earns Reverse Medalist. His award is accepted by Raymond (displaying money won from Rick today).
Shelly passed out birthday brownies before the round.
After the round the group shared birthday cake. Thank you, Jeff, for thoughtfully providing the delicious cake. We all promise to watch our calories starting tomorrow.

Friday Results
Clint stands tall for his team, winning his 2nd CTP of the week. Brandon's +4 also gives them a 1/2 share of the Front.
These 3 combined for a +8, taking Total and the other 1/2 of the Front (Doc was fined for covering up his Bud's Boys hat while posing). Being Friday, they also
took the Rabbit with birdies on 4,5,6 making them the big winners on the day. Thanks to Scott for demonstrating what winners should do by buying a bucket for the group.

May Review
We managed 14 days of play in May, down 1 from 2021. We hosted several guests this month making our total of individuals participating at 34, 186 rounds completed. About 13 a day average. No Surprise Scott appeared in all 14, keeping his streak alive. He passed Joe Dimaggio's 56 and now has 60 straight.
Also not a surprise is Dean at top of May winnings list. He only needed 6 appearances to edge out Rick, who also had a good May performance. On the reverse winning side, please consider Leroy, Butch or Clint if you feel generous with drinks.
The Week Ahead
If you are thinking hard about whether to play this week,
remember to hydrate and wear light colored clothing as temperatures will be very high. Course closed Friday, so choose your days wisely.

Happy birthday Randy Bohn! Always enjoy reading your blogs!. Well done! Yeah you know: have fun stay safe stay strong!! LeRoy P.
