Butch's Boys Golf News for 3/22/2026
No, we have not changed the name of our group. It's just that Butch has taken over the group for the month of March.
Read on to follow his latest escapades in his March Madness run.
Wednesday March 18
The problem with deciding not to play because it is too cold (it was), or too windy (it definitely was), is you never know what record breaking performances you don't get to witness. Such was the case on this particular Card Game Wednesday.
It should come as no surprise that Butch was on the winning side after the golf was over and the last card was turned. Here are the Bud's Boys records established.
1. Worst Score to ever win the Front 9 - Minus 13 and a half!
Yes, all of today's players succumbed to the early weather conditions.
2. Largest increase from Front 9 to Back 9 - 21 Points!
Butch's team improves 21 points on the Back 9 as conditions softened in the afternoon.
3. First Team ever to score Minus 16 on the Front 9 and still win the Total (by 12 no less)!
Though not a record, it was also very interesting that Butch's team turned over their 11 cards and only came up with a pair of nines.
Also interesting is that the nines won when the losing team only had an Ace high with their 2 cards.
Thursday March 19
Medalist Day produced a couple of double jump gems turned in by Clint and Ray. They split the Medalist Prize with a pair of plus eights.
Ray doubles his fun by also winning the CTP.
Unfortunately, Clint and Ray could not stick around after the round as they apparently had to refill the sand in their bags.
Friday March 20
Monday temperature in the teens and Friday temps in the 80's. March in Missouri.
The perfect weather resulted in some much better scoring. Five players reached or surpassed 30 points and 11 of the 18 BB's reached a plus score.
Raymond and Allen were Co-Medalists at +6.
Glen earns his 4th CTP.
Butch sacrifices his own game (a pedestrian -1) to coach Allen (+6) and Wayne (+5) to play way above their heads and stay a perfect 7-0 in March and extend his winning streak to 9.
They win 3 events to take home a big payday, including the Rabbit when Allen and Wayne both birdie 12 (with Butch reading their putts I'm sure). Group birdies on 8, 9, 10, and 11 ran the Rabbit all the way to their winning hole.
