Sunday July 13
What goes up must come down as the saying goes. Last week's group effort of +51 is a distant memory after this past week's performance.
The 'market' crashed big time when play resumed on Wednesday. Tuesday was washed out before we teed off leaving the course a little sloppy for a day but softer for the week taking away our run out. The stifling, muggy heat and the slow greens was a recipe for some most uninspiring golf. The 3 days of play resulted in a group score of minus 54, a 105 point swing from last week. let's break it down day by day.
Wednesday
Jeff wins his 3rd Medal of the season but strikes out on today's money pool due to lack of support.
Bill F wins his 2nd CTP. His and teammate John's +3's are the only 2 scores other than Jeff's to deserve a jump in handicap. It also allows them to take home the Front 9 and Total score money.
Randy, Bill H, and Dave claim the other 2 events with a +2 Back 9 and a full house in the Card Game.
Thursday
With 3 of the 4 teams in the clubhouse, an uneasy feeling was circulating. The best score from these 3 teams was a paltry -4.5 -3.5 -8 with a top Medalist score of +3. It was plain to see that the opportunity for a sweep was more than likely.
More so when Charlie's tee shot on 18 rolled inside the best previous effort to secure the CTP. Though their score wasn't that special, it was enough to sweep the FBT. All that was left was for someone to top Tom's +3 for the day's Thursday Medalist honors. Sure enough, Clint's +4 capped off only the 2nd Royal Flush of 2025.
Friday
Clint and Doc repeat as the big winners on Friday by winning 3 of the 5 events. Clint wins the CTP and Doc's birdie on 10 snares the Rabbit.
Shelly is Friday's Medalist with +5.
Bingo Winners
Doc, KZ, Charlie, Leroy (Clint fills in for Leroy since he was appropriately attired), Randy and Butch hold up their prize envelopes at Friday's presentation.
