Sunday June 8
The water was high enough to wash out Thursday and Friday play, but Tuesday and Wednesday provided plenty of BB's and some mighty fine golfing.
Rick had the best score of the two days with a +8 on Tuesday. Leroy and Bill F double jumped along with Rick with +6's that day.
Raymond, Wayne, Glen, and Wilhelm tied for Wednesday Medalist with their +6's advancing their handicaps by 2 as well.
Tuesday saw Charlie win his first Bud's Boys CTP. Teammate Tom's birdie on 4 wins the Skin. They add the Back 9 to their win column to take 3 of Tuesday's events.
Fadler, Floyd, and Butch take the Front 9 and the Total.
Twenty BB's participated.
Wednesday saw us jump up to 22 golfers, of which the 4 previously mentioned BB's tied for Medalist.
Don wins his 2nd CTP to prevent the juggernaut team of Rodney, Wayne, Raymond, and Norris from sweeping the 5 events.
With Wayne and Raymond's +6's leading the way, they easily sweep the FBT, and Rodney turns a full house to claim the Card Game.
The group had a +13 Total for the day.
Choose your teammates wisely comment.
Rodney played a steady two days with scores of even and +1. His teammates allowed him to be the big winner of the week by taking in $36 for the 2 days.
Bingo Update
I watched Tuesday as Rick, in the midst of his +8 round, have a 7-footer on #14 to end the Bingo game. It lipped out to allow the game to drag on to next week.
The Green team still needs #14 to end the match. Blue team fails to make any progress on #5 or #17.
The Red Team has apparently thrown in the towel as they refuse to knock out any of their 6 remaining holes.
Bud's Boys Hint of the Day
This is really not a "Big" deal, but let's talk score keeping. A thankless job indeed, but someone has to do it. It has been suggested that I show an example of a nice, easy to read, easy to figure out card. You will notice it won't be one of mine as I seem not able to take an extra second per entry to write clearly instead of too fast. I endeavor to improve myself.
The absolute number one thing I ask for is the total points of each player that day. You should have that at the end of the card, ready to go as it will be the first thing I ask for when recording the day's results.
Remember to only record points, not strokes, on the card.
Here is one example.
I like that the total of points needed (left of the name) is listed because a final total not adding up is sometimes simply the wrong handicap number being written down.
I like the running total at the bottom because it is easy to cross check with the total at the end. 11,15, and 16 does add up to the 42 running total.
I like that the birdies are circled, Occasionally, I go over the cards for different reasons and this is a handy tool. Also, I suspect one team lost a random skin recently when they didn't recognize the birdie on their card.
Easy to read, easy to double check anything.
Here is an example of Jeff on Card Day.
Very nice card.
The Main thing is always, of course, THAT SOMEONE IN THE GROUP IS ACTUALLY KEEPING SCORE. Sorry, that's an inside joke that our newcomers probably haven't heard.
Do your best, we will make it work regardless.
Great job of reporting & using examples of how the score card should look!! Also I appreciate u not mentioning my name about not keeping a score card 😂 ! DEANO!!
