Bud's Boys May Review

The month of May is now in our rear-view mirror as I write this on June 1st.

A total of 35 different players participated in the 14 days we were able to access the course and complete 217 rounds of competitive golf. That's an average of 15 plus BB's per day with a high of 23 on two occasions.

Here are some highlights of those 14 days.

Scott had the highest score with a +10 on the 7th.

KZ notched a +9 on the 13th while Floyd and Roger reached +7 on the 23rd and Doc also +7 on the 27th.

Randy had the high one-day point total with 37 on the 23rd.

Doc tallied 35 on the 27th and Tom did as well on the 29th.

Doc and Butch were the only multiple CTP winners, both earning 2.

Doc and Ray led the Medal count with 3 apiece.

In money matters, KZ accumulated $97 in his 12 rounds. Tom took in $90 in 8 rounds in his return to action. Ron collected $81 in 13 rounds.

Player of the Month

The committee had a tough choice in selecting this month's best performance as there were several worthy candidates to choose from.

If you follow hockey, you know that they choose 3 stars at the end of the game, and they skate out and do a circle and wave to the crowd after their name is called. 

That is what we will do here today. You will just have to imagine that the winners are driving their cart in a circle and waving to us sitting on the deck after the round.

Third Star: Doc

Doc has a well rounded month of May. A 7-2 record with 2 CTP's, 3 Medals and $73 in winnings. He also had a 35-point +7 round.

Second Star: KZ

KZ seemed to have the award locked up at the halfway mark as he had already accumulated $92 in his first 8 rounds. He did earn a CTP, 2 Medals and a +9 score in his 9-3 record. His finish of only $5 in his last 5 attempts opened the door for our #1 star.

First Star: Tom

He had not played a round of golf since February 5th when he rejoined the group on May 9th. We sorely underestimated his powers of recovery from heart surgery by assigning him a 25-handicap number. In the 8 rounds he has played, his number has gone up 8 points to 33, placing him at his customary spot at the top of our list. He had a perfect 8-0 record in earning his $90. For winning Player-of-the Month, he will receive an award from Butch's mystery prize bag. Welcome back Tom!

Tuesday Scorecard

Doc steals the show with his best round of the year. His team sweeps FBT and takes Random Skin with a birdie on #8. 

KZ prevents the Royal Flush with his 2nd CTP of the season.

Wednesday Scorecard

Bill H wins his first career CTP and, along with Scott and Glen, ties for Medalist honors at +5.

Thursday Scorecard

Brandon picks Medalist Thursday to earn his first Medal of 2025. His +6 leads team to 3 of the 5 events.

Clint's 2nd CTP this year puts his team in the win column.

Tom's game high 35 points contributes to his team's victory on the Back 9, assuring his perfect 8-0 mark for May.
