 What's Up with the Boys

Winding down the month of May, we have played 11 rounds with 4 possible dates before June arrives.

Friday Results

We can be a quite contrary group at times. This past week being a good example.

Wednesday was a scoring nightmare as the 23 players combined for a minus 41 total.

Thursday was a calm day, only minus 3 total for the 16 players. Three of the 5 teams shot even or near even.

Friday brought out a whole different level of play.  An 85-point difference in fact from Wednesday. 

Friday's collection of ball strikers finished with a total of +44.

Randy Medals with a +8 which included 4 straight birdies on the Back 9. 

Roger and Floyd checked in at +7 and Butch also double jumped with his +6.

Rodney and Leroy at +5 and Don and Glen at +4 earn honorable mentions.

'Bad Beat' is a Poker term that means having a great hand only to be bested by a more spectacular one. Today was that way for 3 teams. A +8 Back 9 and +10 Total seemed a sure winner based on this week's previous scores; however, they watched as a +12 1/2 +14 beat them only to lose to a +15 +16. Saturday Scramble

We tried out a 2-man scramble Saturday with Tom and Leroy taking the biggest slice of the prize money with Glen and Floyd second on the money list. Great fun and something we may try once a month with different formats. 




Bingo Update

19 birdies were recorded Friday, but none were needed bingo holes. Totals remain the same.

New Years News Bits- Opening Day 2025 We have coverage of the first two days of the new 2025 season along with a look back at 2024. Plenty of pictures from several different contributors of the winter storm to pass your time. Maybe we should throw in a couple bucks and make your prediction of when the next Bud's Boys round will be played. It is good to be back up and running with my new computer. The geek salesman assured me this computer will be much faster. Honestly though, I seem to type just as slow as before. Thursday Lunch Proposal How about we meet again this Thursday (11:00) if there is no golf. We had a good turnout this past week and I propose we do it again this Thursday.  Bud's Boys Count Your Blessings Issue Everyday should be a 'CYB' day but some days you realize it a little more. More on that later. Halloween is coming soon, and we have the Coors golfer haunting our course. Friday Rabbit Chase The greens were fast and furious once more and the total group score of minus 24 reflected as much. Kudos to Doc (+4) and Dean (+3) for shooting on the plus side of their handicap numbers in the tough conditions. Special shout out to Glen and Butch for breaking their streaks of minus golf with a +3 for Butch and a Medalist best +5 for Glen. Butch jarred his birdie putt on hole #9 to catch the Rabbit. Glen wins his 3rd CTP of October.
