BB's Winter Wonderings


BB's Flash Update


At today's Kimbeland Christmas party one of the 3 BB's above won the $500 raffle off 2025 dues. Good thing it was the one who really needs it. 

Congrats Doc, although Jeff tried to donate it back.


We are down to the last few playing days of 2024. Weather not looking promising this coming week so get out while you can. I have a couple of box scores from Thursday and Friday and a letter to Santa for your holiday reading.

Medalist Day was a 2-person race as only KZ and Butch were able to maintain a score in the plus column.

They tie for Medalist honors with a +4 score, 4 better than the next closest pursuer.

A total of 253 points were scored today yet the 3 team scores were separated by one single digit. I am sure nobody can think of a single short putt that didn't go in, am I right?

Friday December 13

Friday the 13th was unlucky for 11 of the 12 golfers today. Doc was the only plus player on the day winning the Medal with +4. Doc's birdies on 4,6, and 7 were enough to lead his team to victory on the Front 9 and also to cage the Rabbit.

One letter to Santa today. Please send me your letter (or better yet for someone else) or post on comments.

Dear Santa, 

Please bring me a bag full of quarters so I can afford to play golf next year when we start paying for mulligans. I have been good this year mostly.

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. Bud's Boys Look Back On 2024 January through June Remember Lunch Every Thursday until Golf Returns! Player of the Year Awarded! To say KZ was surprised is an understatement! 2023 POY Raymond makes the presentation. KZ's resume includes: Money Winner Net Money Winner Most Improved (+4) Medal Leader Thursday Medali$t Leader 20 game winning streak January   Opening Day 2024 was Tuesday the 2nd. Roger wins his second straight CTP but fails to join Butch and Floyd on Wednesday the 3rd. Shelly notches her 3rd career hole-in-one on Jan 11. We had 19-day layoff from the 11th to the 30th, eating was all we had to do. February Rodney wins his first CTP of the season with this gem on #18. Randy gets some revenge on hole #10 by holing out from 150 yards for an eagle on Feb 11. Feb 13th was not a Friday, but it produced a memorable day nonetheless. New Years News Bits- Opening Day 2025 We have coverage of the first two days of the new 2025 season along with a look back at 2024. Plenty of pictures from several different contributors of the winter storm to pass your time. Maybe we should throw in a couple bucks and make your prediction of when the next Bud's Boys round will be played. It is good to be back up and running with my new computer. The geek salesman assured me this computer will be much faster. Honestly though, I seem to type just as slow as before. Thursday Lunch Proposal How about we meet again this Thursday (11:00) if there is no golf. We had a good turnout this past week and I propose we do it again this Thursday.
