 BB's Golf Street Journal

Hectic week with many of the Boys at Crown Point Weds and Thurs (much more on that soon) and Kimbeland Senior Club Championship Saturday and Sunday. Here are the box scores from Tuesday through Thursday and a little wrap up of the Kimbeland Championship. Enjoy Doc's pictures of Colorado and thanks for the rain.




Tuesday 9/10

Three-way tie for Medalist at +3. Glen and Rick were 2 of those 3 and their team wins Back 9 and Total and ties for the Front 9. Teammate Tom's birdie on 15 also gives them the Random Skin.

Clint wins the CTP.





Weds 9/11

Jeff is today's Medalist, and his team wins the Back 9 and Total. Teammate Tom wins his 16th CTP, and they win the Card Game to take 4 of today's 5 events.

Raymond returns from a nearly 1-month layoff.





Thursday 9/12

We changed up things a bit by going with four 2-man teams for Medalist Thursday.

KZ easily wins the Medal with a big +8. Jeff holds him back enough that they only win the Front. He does, however, win the CTP.
 
Raymond scores 33 points for a +4 on his 2nd day back and teams with Brandon's +2 to win the Back 9 and Total.







Kimbeland Sr. Club Championship

Raymond continues his solid streak of golf since his return to action by earning Co-Champion honors in A Flight. He plays 36 holes this weekend without a single birdie yet pars 33 of them for a two-day total of 3 over par (72-73). This surely makes him a heavy favorite to retain his title of 'Champion Golfer of the Year' in a couple of weeks.

Gary and Randy also place in the 2-day event.

Mother's Day 5/12

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. St. Pat's Day Sunday 3/17

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. The person who best predicts the outcome of all the matches will get some yet undetermined special prize, fitting the magnitude of such an event. Here are the participants and their region. In the Allen Hill Regional, Allen himself will square off with Randy. The winner will face the survivor of the Glen vs. KZ matchup. In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. The Bud Marshall Regional has Scott and Roger facing off with the winner going up against the Bob vs. Tom match. T

 Bud's Boys Count Your Blessings Issue Everyday should be a 'CYB' day but some days you realize it a little more. More on that later. Halloween is coming soon, and we have the Coors golfer haunting our course. Friday Rabbit Chase The greens were fast and furious once more and the total group score of minus 24 reflected as much. Kudos to Doc (+4) and Dean (+3) for shooting on the plus side of their handicap numbers in the tough conditions. Special shout out to Glen and Butch for breaking their streaks of minus golf with a +3 for Butch and a Medalist best +5 for Glen. Butch jarred his birdie putt on hole #9 to catch the Rabbit. Glen wins his 3rd CTP of October.
