Bud's Boys Mid-Week Report


Sad news just given to me. Doc's brother-in-law Lyle has passed after an extended illness.  Some of us that had a chance to play a few rounds of golf with him will remember an incredibly kind and decent person. Our thoughts and sympathies to Doc and his family as they face a tough few days ahead.

Bingo Ends on Last Day of July

It took exactly 1 month (13 playing days) to complete this chapter of the Bingo Game. Tom ended the growing frustration of all the teams with a Birdie on #16 to fill out the card of the Blue Team. White team comes up 2 holes short, the Red team 3. Final scorecard results below.


Tuesday Play

Heat index around 115* didn't deter 15 BB's from the challenge. Rodney's Co-Medalist +4 teamed with +1's from Tom and Raymond was enough to win 2 and a half of the FBT. Clint's Co-Medalist +4 managed a tie on the Back 9 for his team.

KZ wins the CTP.

Mikey's birdie on #14 wins the Random Skin.

Although 4 of the 5 teams cashed in today, Glen's team did not, ending his very impressive win streak at 14. KZ's record streak of 20 remains safe.



Wednesday Play

Another day of 115 heat index. Many BB's traveled north for SEMO Sr. action leaving only 8 escapees for play today.


Everyone shot better than the temperature in what turned out to be a very close match.





Rodney calls his shot on #10



As previously mentioned, Tom's birdie on #16 was the play of the day but he also notched his league leading 10th CTP of the season.

The other 4 events were halved. 

Be careful BB's, the next several days will be more of the same as far as the heat goes. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate and whatever else it takes to stay cool.



Thursday August 1

Another 4 on 4 match on Thursday.

Bob wins the Medal on Medalist Day with +5, edging Scott's +4.

Jeff wins the first CTP of August, his 8th this year.

New Years News Bits- Opening Day 2025 We have coverage of the first two days of the new 2025 season along with a look back at 2024. Plenty of pictures from several different contributors of the winter storm to pass your time. Maybe we should throw in a couple bucks and make your prediction of when the next Bud's Boys round will be played. It is good to be back up and running with my new computer. The geek salesman assured me this computer will be much faster. Honestly though, I seem to type just as slow as before. Thursday Lunch Proposal How about we meet again this Thursday (11:00) if there is no golf. We had a good turnout this past week and I propose we do it again this Thursday.  Bud's Boys Count Your Blessings Issue Everyday should be a 'CYB' day but some days you realize it a little more. More on that later. Halloween is coming soon, and we have the Coors golfer haunting our course. Friday Rabbit Chase The greens were fast and furious once more and the total group score of minus 24 reflected as much. Kudos to Doc (+4) and Dean (+3) for shooting on the plus side of their handicap numbers in the tough conditions. Special shout out to Glen and Butch for breaking their streaks of minus golf with a +3 for Butch and a Medalist best +5 for Glen. Butch jarred his birdie putt on hole #9 to catch the Rabbit.
