Bud's Boys Birthday Bash Thursday

A short notice birthday party for Jeff and Randy tomorrow at the course. Probably some food and drink and probably CTP prizes for holes 6 and 8 as they are turning 68 in the next few days. Gifts are not required but money is always welcome.

Tuesday June 11

Rodney is the first Buds Boy to wear professional golfer Jason Day's line of loose-fitting golf apparel.



KZ helps himself in stretching his winning streak to 19. He and Butch both score +4 on the Front to lead their team to victory. They also tie for the Total.




Medalist Roger (+6) does most of his damage in the Back, leading his team to that win and the other half of the Total.

Raymond puts one in tight to a blue flag on 18 to earn the CTP.




Doc has the only Birdie on Number 1 to take the Random Skin for his boys.




Wednesday June 12

It was a Jekyll and Hyde day for many of today's 17 golfers. Several of our group started fast by turning in some big scores on the Front. As is typical for golfers of our ages, some didn't have the stamina for all 18. Bill, Gerald, Scott, and Jeff all fell 4 strokes off their pace on the Front. Roger dropped back 5 and Bob lost 6 strokes on his Back 9. The biggest drop by far, however, was Raymond with a 10 shot fall off the cliff. He doesn't mind this being published because he knows I have to say he fell from a very impressive 1-under par 19-point Front 9 to a more pedestrian 9 points on the Back.

Jeff wins the CTP and Allen, Tom, and Glen share Medalist honors at +5.

In the Card Game, Scott managed to turn a Flush with only 6 cards at his disposal. Unfortunately for his team, Randy had 4 extra cards that enabled him to hit a higher Flush on his 9th card.

KZ took the day off, so his streak remains at 19.

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. The person who best predicts the outcome of all the matches will get some yet undetermined special prize, fitting the magnitude of such an event. Here are the participants and their region. In the Allen Hill Regional, Allen himself will square off with Randy. The winner will face the survivor of the Glen vs. KZ matchup. In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. Mother's Day 5/12

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. Champion Golfer Full Coverage

Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
