Bingo Starts Tuesday!!
Lots and Lots of numbers in this issue including June Review and Recap of the first half of the 2024 season. But we will begin with Bingo news.
July does indeed come in with a bang as the first day of Birdie Bingo is this Tuesday July 2nd. Teams were drawn Friday night after the scores of that day were posted. Here is the luck of the draw.
A Fourth of July Red, White, and Blue theme seems appropriate. The Red team and their Honorary Captain Thomas Jefferson are represented by
Glen 34 Dean 29 Doc 28 Brandon 24
Roger 24 Bob 23 Leroy 20 Bill 13
The White team and Honorary Captain Paul Revere are
Randy 31 Clint 29 Mikey 27 Butch 25
Rick 23 Rodney 23 KZ 19 Shelly 16
The Blue team and Honorary captain John Adams are
Tom 29 Raymond 29 Jeff 27 John 25
Allen 23 Scott 23 Gerald 17 Floyd 17
Do not fret about how often you play, just play when you can and be part of a team that appreciates any and all contributions.
Thursday Play
A dozen Bud's Boys arrived ready to play on Medalist Thursday. Rodney was able to fight off his swing demons enough to claim a share of the Thursday Medalist pot. He also cleared the pond on 18 for the first time this month and watched his ball roll close enough to the pin to also win the CTP. Scott and Glen were the other co-Medalists as their team swept the FBT.
Friday Play
An even dozen appeared for the second consecutive muggy day. Roger showed out by earning Medalist honors (+5) to lead team to victories on the Back and Total. He also bested the other 11 players with his tee shot on 18 to win the CTP.
Randy, KZ, and Mikey shoot +8 on the Front to win that event and the Rabbit.
June Review
June allowed us 13 days of play, lowest number for this month since I have kept track. We had 28 different BB's post at least one of the 176 rounds played, an average of 13.5 per day.
Interestingly, we had 13 different CTP winners for the 13 days played.
Scott led with 3 Medals, followed by Glen, Bob, and Rodney with 2 each. It should be noted that both of Rodney's were won on a Thursday ($$$).
KZ posted the best individual round with a +10. John posted a +9.
Glen reached 36 points for top score in that department.
Leading money winners for June; Scott $88, Glen $87, KZ $71, Bob $64.
Because I record each day's play, I sometimes notice number oddities. Today's rant is covering old ground as I checked June's numbers comparing the Front 9 to the Back 9.
For the month of June (13 days, 176 rounds remember), the group aggregate score on the Front was +123. The Back 9 totaled -86. That is a 209-point difference or a 16-point difference per day. The switch on 12 from par 3 to par 4 is a big factor (that makes 3 par-3's on the Front and only 1 on the Back) and I have to believe the fatigue factor on the hot days certainly contributes to the not-so-great finishing runs. Facts say the Back 9 is a tougher stretch of holes for whatever reason. You must shoot big on the Front to win but only have to survive for a chance on the Back.
We Are Halfway Through 2024
