Bud's Boys News of the Week

Floyd's Fish Fry was certainly a big success. Floyd's fish, as usual was fried to perfection. The sides were also so good that there were many uncomfortable people whose attempts at moderation failed miserably, including myself. 

Thanks to Floyd and Karen for being exceptional hosts and everyone who contributed the great food.

Jeff's golf shootout was a little on the disappointing side. It turns out that it is very hard to hit an effective shot from 120 yards when your stomach is fully expanded.


The level of Jeff's pond is a little higher thanks to the many golf balls now residing at the bottom. After everyone had made their futile attempts, Jeff finally hit the flag stick for the best shot of the night. It should be noted that he also rinsed a ball or two earlier.

Friday June 21 Results

Tom was today's birthday boy and he treated everyone to cake and much appreciated ice cream at the end of the round. Sorry we have no pictures as Doc is on another travel excursion. 

Leroy double jumps as his +6 is tops today. That was enough for his team to win the Front and tie for the Total.

Shelly wins the CTP and Tom's birdie on 10 snares the Rabbit.

Bob's 8-game streak comes to an end as does Allen's 7-game.

Bill's 9-game streak is the best current run.


Birdie Bingo is Back July 2nd

Birdie Bingo will be back Tuesday July 2nd with the teams being chosen based on handicaps at the end of play Friday June 28. Here would be the teams if we chose them today using the handicap snake system.

If you see your name listed below, I am expecting you to participate. If you choose not to, please let me know, no problem.

If your name is not listed below, please tell me so I could add your name to the list. The usual $5 entry.

I repeat these are not the official teams but an example of what could be.

Team 1- Glen, Clint, Dean, Brandon, Bob, Rodney, KZ, Bill

Team 2- Tom, Raymond, Jeff, Butch, Rick, Roger, Scott, Shelly

Team 3- Randy, Doc, Mikey, John, Allen, Leroy, Gerald, Floyd

    Checked on Bill, he is out of the hospital with the clot dissolved but will be on the DL for a minimum of a week. Raymond

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Mother's Day 5/12

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. Champion Golfer Full Coverage

Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
