 Ace in the Hole


Appropriately, Doc gets his Ace on Card Game Day. Doc records his 4th career hole-in-one today, his third on hole #6. A five hybrid from 145 yards straight at the hole without need of a fortunate bounce. Congrats Doc, the Boys are proud of you!


As far as the regular game today, for the third day in a row and 4th in 5 days, a team sweeps the FBT. KZ and Glen are +6 to share Medalist with Raymond. Glen shoots a 1-under 70 to reach his +6. They also win the card game with a full house.

Tom wins the CTP to deny the clean sweep.

KZ extends record win streak to 13.

Rick's streak ends at 10. Below he reminds players to open hips before tossing your club.



Butch and Jeff reunite after a month apart.






Tuesday May 28

I had to lead today's blog with Doc's Ace, but now we go back to Tuesday play. Allen (co-Medalist +5), Bob, and Bill sweep FBT.




Roger sneaks an inch inside Allen's tee shot on #18 to claim the CTP.

KZ extends his winning streak when Raymond's birdie on #9 takes the Random Skin.

Bob shows how high the grass is in his back yard.



After the round, Doc (First Place) and Clint (Runner-up) are awarded their huge monetary awards for the first ever 'Bud's Boys Match Play Madness'.

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. The person who best predicts the outcome of all the matches will get some yet undetermined special prize, fitting the magnitude of such an event. Here are the participants and their region. In the Allen Hill Regional, Allen himself will square off with Randy. The winner will face the survivor of the Glen vs. KZ matchup. In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. Mother's Day 5/12

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. Champion Golfer Full Coverage

Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
