Two dates to mark down on your calendar. Read carefully.

Floyd Fish Fry Saturday June 22

Floyd will host a Fish Fry for all BB's and partners at his place outside of Kelso. Details and directions to come soon.

Butch Fest Saturday July 27

Butch will host his BB's and partners get together at his house in Jackson. Last year's event was amazing. I hope those unable to attend last year can make this one.

Many thanks in advance to both for the opportunity to socialize with the group outside of the golf course. Let's do our best to make these efforts a fun memory. 

That said, for those who couldn't attend last year, it's not this kind of party

 

nor this kind


but somewhere in between.

Weds May 15

For only the 2nd time in 2 weeks, we made it onto the course. The water had receded enough for a Wednesday card game.


Rick rampaged through the Front at even par and finished with a Medalist best +8. Mikey's +4 and Floyd's +1 gives them the FBT sweep.

Doc's CTP capped off his excellent +5 showing.

Jeff somehow turned a full house in only 6 cards to take the last prize of the day.


 Thursday May 16

We had 16 players on the 16th, all lined up for action.


Some of the usual suspects were there.



Including BB's 'Three Wise Men'.


By the end of the day, however, play was dominated by this group.


Bill's +6 takes the prize on Medalist Thursday and with Doc's +3 leads the foursome to victories on the Front and the Total. Leroy's CTP gives them 4 of the 5 events.

When the rain suddenly started to fall, Rodney started digging through his bag for his golf bag rain cover. As I was riding with Rodney in his cart, I felt compelled to ask, "Rodney, you do know what that is on the back of your cart?"


Rodney confessed, "I really did know it was there, but I had never used it before."

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. The person who best predicts the outcome of all the matches will get some yet undetermined special prize, fitting the magnitude of such an event. Here are the participants and their region. In the Allen Hill Regional, Allen himself will square off with Randy. The winner will face the survivor of the Glen vs. KZ matchup. In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. The Bud Marshall Regional has Scott and Roger facing off with the winner going up against the Bob vs. Tom match. T

Mother's Day 5/12

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. Champion Golfer Full Coverage

Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
