Bud's Boys Weekend Update

A short week of only 3 days of play, but still, plenty of golf to talk about as we have only 1 playing day of April left. Oh, by the way, only 3 days available for play this week so schedule accordingly.

Wrap ups of daily play, Match Play update, SEMO Sr. news and more, but first some more photos by our world traveling paparazzo, Doc.

Doc is still in France, this time sending us some looks from Normandy.
Like many, I have a fascination with the history of WW II. I can only imagine the aura, the haunting yet revered feeling when you realize the magnitude of the events that took place nearly 80 years ago on the ground you are standing on. Can't wait to hear Doc's take.

Doc on Omaha Beach.

The sacrifice of thousands of very young men, staggering to imagine.

SEMO Senior News

Bud's Boys sent 9 representatives to the first SEMO Seniors event of the year to defend our home turf of KCC. The group performed remarkably well with 6 of the Boys bringing home prize money.

Glen and Dean take First and Second respectively in Super Senior Group 1 by shooting the only even par rounds turned in by the entire field. Glen gets $65 and Dean $55 for their efforts.

Bob takes 6th in that same flight to claim $15.

Leroy and Allen go 3rd and 4th in Super Senior Group 2, good for $45 and $35.

Randy wins 1st in Older Group 1 for $65.

Bill gets big Kudos for running a great tournament. You would appreciate this a lot more if you got a good look at what he has to deal with.

Tuesday April 23

The finals of the match play tournament are set as the last semi-final was completed today. Doc will face Clint in the final after Clint edges Tom in a terrific one on one match today. Both players had their 'A' game going as Clint finished the day at +5 and Tom at +4. It came down to hole #18 when Clint faced a 25-footer to win the match. A 2-putt would send the match to a sudden death playoff. Not wanting to go any further, Clint drained the putt, setting up his confrontation with the Doc.

In regular play, KZ earns Medalist with a +6, leading Tom and Mikey to victories on the Back and the Total.

Tom gets some consolation by winning the CTP and the Random Skin with his birdie on #13.

There may have been a new record of futility as one unnamed team shot a -23 to lose by 33 strokes.

Weds 4/24

Thirteen showed on Card Day. Scott and Leroy were sharp as their +5's tied for Medalist. Scott's teammate Raymond was right there with a +4, giving them the Back and Total and enough cards to take the Card Game.

Leroy settles for victory on the Front.

Tom sets up an exciting Thursday by winning his 2nd consecutive CTP. He goes for the Floyd tomorrow.

Thursday 4/25

Tom sends his tee shot on #18 straight at the pin in his attempt to reach BB's immortality. Unfortunately, the ball sails an extra club over the red flag. Probably the adrenaline. He had an extremely tough task as Glen had already placed his tee shot in the 18–24-inch range to win the CTP.

Glen shoots a 1-under par 70 to edge KZ for Thursday Medalist honors with a +7 in addition to his CTP victory. Brandon shows well with a +5.
