Super Sunday Feb 11

It is indeed Super Bowl Sunday, and we will get to golf after a few Super Bowl Trivial Tidbits. The Super Bowl must rival Thanksgiving in that we could not find a parking spot at the grocery store on Saturday. Anyway, here are some trivia questions to get you warmed up before the big game.
Answers at the end of the column. Keep your score as the winner gets a surprise gift next week. Remember, we are on the Honor System!

1. Who scored the first SB touchdown?

2. What city has hosted the most SBs?

3. What team has played in 4 SBs and never once held a lead?

4. New England has won the most SBs with 6 (along with Pittsburgh), but who has the most SB losses?

5. Who has the most SB touchdowns?

6. Who has the most SB MVPs?

7. What team has the longest SB drought of 58 years?

8. What was the price for a ticket at the first SB?

9. Who is the only team to be shut out in the SB?

10. Who was the first celebrity to perform at halftime at the SB? (I could give you a million guesses and I doubt you would get it right.)

Thursday Golf

Most of Bud's Boys shied away from the elements on Thursday, but Butch and Scott took on Gerald and Tom in a tough man 10 hole competition. Tom wins the CTP to break everyone even on the day.

Friday Golf

Twelve BB's showed up on Friday in much milder conditions to compete on Rabbit Day.

Raymond shows out as the Medalist at +6 with an even par round of 36 points. Unfortunately, he was Ruppeled and didn't win a thing. (Editor's note: Being 'Ruppeled' means you played really well but your teammates let you down.)

Scott wins his first CTP of the season and his team (Butch +5 on the day) also takes the Front 9 with a stellar +5 for a 2-victory day.

Jeff (+5), Keith (+5), and Randy (+4) run away with the Back 9 (+11.5) and the Total (14). Randy's Eagle on 10 wins the Rabbit after 3 teams birdie #9 to push the Rabbit to extra holes.

I hit a 5-hybrid into a stiff wind (check the flag) from around 150 yards. As you can see in the picture, I have 2 wedges and a putter in my hand. I thought I saw the shot land next to the hole, but when we got to the green and didn't see a ball, I assumed it rolled off the back. Lucky, Lucky!

Jeff's Amazing Week

Jeff played 4 days this week and pocketed a cool $56. That 1 week total is more than all but 4 other BB's have won all year! I submit this must be a 1-week record.

This leads to another new BB's term, being 'Biffed'. Although Leroy was part of Jeff's winning team on Weds, Jeff 'Biffed' Leroy on Friday. (Biffed: not wanted or desired).

Other BB's news, Tom and Butch both saw their season best 8-game winning streaks come to an end. Jeff has longest current streak at 5.
