Leap Day Results The votes have not been tabulated yet, but it seems Jeff has sewed up 'Player of the Month' honors by taking advantage of the extra day in February to do what only he could accomplish. He watches his number go down , while sweeping all 5 events of today's play.  At least he did provide donuts before the round. KZ wins 2nd straight Medalist glory to secure FBT and Jeff wins CTP. Randy earns 6 cards to aid the Card Game victory.

Bud's Boys News Is the weather responsible for this sudden rash of never seen before BB's golf accomplishments? There is a short recap of Monday's action, but we are going to start with the happenings of Tuesday. The weather did not seem to invite good scoring as the 20mph winds never abated. In fact, our Monday Medalist Jeff backed out of playing because he thought the wind was too strong (Wah). I suspect the 80-degree temps must have been the equalizer as the day ended with new record scoring. I flipped back through my old notebooks all the way to November of 2021. Anything before that was hard to comprehend as I hadn't yet settled on a simple to read format. Anyway, here are some numbers I found. On 12/31/2021 the team of Tom (+5), Gary (even), Josh (+8), and Allen (+10) rang up a +23 score, the highest score I could find. On 5/31/2022 Tom +5, Dean +9, Rick +3, and Dennis Bucher +5 came close with +22. As far as 3-person teams go, the best I found were a pair of +18&

Tuesday's round will require more time to put together, likely tomorrow as Weds weather looks rough. As a teaser, I will say that 23 birdies were recorded in 20 mph wind conditions today and a new scoring record was set.

Jeff is Medalist (+8, he wins again). Marty wins first 2024 CTP. Randy's win streak ends at 8. Leroy's streak reaches 7. More details and box score later this week.

Today's issue recaps play on Wednesday and Friday. Doc is off in Arizona so, today's pictures may seem a little strange. Wacky Wednesday Feb 21 Westy and Marty make their 2024 debuts today, good to see them back! How wacky was today's play? I would venture it leans heavily to the very much so side. Example 1: Butch shares scorekeeping hints he learned from Andy on Tuesday. (Thanks, Brenda, for keeping Butch on his toes!) Example 2: Tom, Scott, and Gerald take 4 beagles to go with 1 par and 1 bogey on holes 8 and 9 yet win the Front with a -1 1/2. Example 3: Jeff birdies 16 and Roger birdies 17 and 18 to lead their team to a +8 finish on the Back, yet they don't win. Roger tries to help his partner's putt go in. Example 4: Raymond's team can do no better than bogey on holes 17 and 18, yet they win the Back with a +8 1/2 thanks to his birdies on 11, 14, and 15 and Gary's on 13. Leroy and Rodney decide who is out. Example 5: KZ turns 2 cards (pair of Jacks) an

Consider today a 'Short' version of the Blog because of time constraints. Monday 2/19 Leroy is Medalist with +6. Randy wins 2nd CTP in a row. Leroy's birdie on 7 wins Reverse Rabbit. Wednesday 2/20 Jeff is Medalist with +6 as his team sweeps FBT. Clint's CTP denies Randy the elusive 'Floyd' by a 3-foot margin. Gary's birdie on 9 claims today's Random Skin.

Thursday Feb 15  We had 14 BB's play a post Valentine Day round. Play of the Day was Medalist Thursday. This was unfortunate for Doc, Scott, and Butch who were thinking one day ahead to Rabbit Friday.  Their multiple birdies, including 9,10, and 11, gave them a feeling of great confidence until the realization of the actual day's event hit home. It was Thursday, not Friday. Bob did know what day it was. His +7-performance wins Medalist, 4 points clear of his nearest competition. His back-to-back birdies on 15 and 16 led him to 17 points on the Back 9. Randy wins CTP to aid Bob, Clint, and Gerald in winning 4 of today's events. An eagle on 13 by Tom and Shelly's birdie on 15 carries their team to +5 on the Back to prevent the clean sweep. Jeff's win streak comes to an end today. He did tie Tom and Butch for longest streak of the year so far with 8. I had mistakenly (nothing new there) had him at 7 in a previous post. Random Thoughts A sportswriter once mentioned that
