Sunday January 21

A Baker's dozen of Bud's Boys convened at a local eatery on Wednesday to discuss the important issues of the day as well as raise a glass or 2 as we lunched. Many topics were broached, including some BB's business (don't worry, we didn't ban anyone, well not yet anyway, but not being present certainly ups your chances), including Shelly's recent hole-in-one.

As we have previously acknowledged, this was her 3rd which puts her in rarified air when it comes to the millions of golfers worldwide who do not or will not get to that number. But did you know ..........,

that when it comes to our little band of golfers known as Bud's Boys, Shelly's 3rd ties her with Glen and Doc who also have 3. Very impressive indeed. But did you know .........,

that two of our special octagenarians, Rodney and Dean, have each jarred 4 shots from the distant tee boxes. Four Aces are hard to beat in poker, but did you know .........,

that our one and only Sgt.-at-arms, that master of the one-liner (and the longer versions), Leroy himself, has seen 5 mostly well struck balls roll into the hole for his handful of aces. Leroy quickly points out that hole #12 at KCC has eluded his efforts thus far, but did you know .......,

that if Leroy makes number 6, it would tie him with Scott and Clint who have each claimed a half dozen 1's on their scorecards. Who would have guessed by watching us play that we have this much hidden talent? But did you know ......,

that one of our Founding Fathers leads our current list of players with 7 holes-in-one.  Hats off to Allen for quite an amazing accomplishment.

Of course, this list was discussed at our Weds. meeting. I would like to hear from the rest of the group what your number is. I do know that our namesake Bud has several, including 2 in a 10 day stretch not many years ago. I need to find out how many our other 2 FF's, Andy and Norm, have accumulated also.

Raymond is presented with his Golfer of the year trophy. A closer look at the trophy and you will agree that I don't know anyone who deserves it more.

Tom accepts his gift for being 2023 CTP Champion. He looks so proud, doesn't he?

Wednesday Lunches

It has been suggested that through February at least, that any non-playing Wednesday is a designated 11:00 lunch meeting at Kimbeland. As of yesterday, although the clubhouse is open, they do not have full service available. No ice or water for coffee, tea, etc. If kitchen not available, we will again meet at Wings etc. That's every non-playing Weds.

You can stop by the clubhouse and check out Doc's photo display next to the pro shop.
