Bud's Boys 2023 Review On Wednesday 12/27, Roger and Randy squared off against Tom and Scott in the last BB's competition of 2023. Roger and Randy win the scoring match and Roger wins the last CTP of the season. Tom and Scott do win the card game to avoid being swept. A quick December recap. Sixteen days of play by 24 players resulted in 169 rounds or just over 10 per day. Glen, Scott, and Tom were the biggest winners. Butch played Santa Claus and gave back a good chunk of his yearly winnings in December, but don't feel too sorry for him as you will see later. Raymond won 3 CTP's, Tom, Glen, Doc, and Leroy each won 2. Glen finished a good month with 5 Medals, Scott added 3 more to his total. This closes the book on 2023, another successful (in my opinion) year for the Bud's Boys. Although we lost way too many rounds to injuries and surgeries and such, we had many good memories along the way. Following are some of the special events I can recall along with the yeare

Tuesday only had 6 players sign up. The match ended in a 2 to 2 tie with no money changing hands. Allen wins the CTP. The random skins game was called off due to lack of cards.

Merry Christmas to all Bud's Boys and Families! We have Thursday and Friday results along with a last-minute gift idea from Floyd among today's items. But we will start by turning the writing duties over to Doc. He is traveling for the holidays this year,   and has taken the time to pen his version of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas'.          The Spirit of Bud's Boys                                                by Doc Last minute Christmas Gift For all of us struggling with our putting, Floyd has found a quite useful putting aide. Fireball Update Our group has certainly gone through our share of Fireball over the years so I thought you might enjoy this news bit. Seems that when Fireball heard this young lady really enjoyed a nip of their cinnamon whiskey, they sent her 105 shooters for her 105th birthday. She could play in my group anytime. From Leroy to all BB's Thursday Results Any controversy over Raymond's attempt for three CTP's in a row was s

Mid-Week Report Correction This smiling face is indeed Rodney (not Tim) as some readers have correctly informed me. He was in great spirits as his smile confirms and is eager to give it a try come January. To clear up any confusion, this was an inside joke. That is what happens when you don't play. You don't know what you can miss. Besides, we all can agree Rodney and Tim don't really look that much alike. Monday Play There was not a BB's match on Monday, but Raymond joined Mikey and his companion for 18 holes. Raymond correctly predicted Mikey would be there so he wouldn't have to play alone. Tuesday An official BB's event was played on Tuesday with 5 players. Wolf was the game of the day and Randy was the wolf winner (8 quarters worth). Raymond, however, was the day's biggest winner by taking the CTP. Wednesday Card Game  Floyd Alert Raymond wins 2nd straight CTP setting up his chance for a Floyd on Thursday. All hands on deck tomorrow, make

Jeff wins 'It's All About Your Teammates' award as Gary and Tom lift him and his -5 to 2 victories. Tim stops by to visit. Tim visited us on the course, expects to rejoin the group at start of new year! CTP Race  With only 9 more possible days of play remaining, here is the list of those who have not been mathematically eliminated. Tom 18 Glen 16 Raymond 14 Bob 12 Doc 12 Randy 12 Clint 11 Jeff 9 (must win 9 in a row to tie Tom) Fun With Numbers In friendly conversation the subject of Bud's Boys dues has been brought up a few times. What would be the first thing you would say if I told you your BB's dues for 2024 would be $850.00? Hold

These are the 3 tee shots of Team 2 on 18. Clint makes the long putt, Scott from just past the pin, and Leroy taps in for his as they post 3 birdies to finish first on the Back and Total. Leroy's shot also takes CTP. A 5-way tie for Medalist on Medalist Day goes to Scotty who high-carded Randy and Glen. Gerald's drive on 9 finished rolling PAST the green. May have been cart path aided. Clint found ball with 'Love'. He used it to birdie 18.
