Wednesday Card Game A turnout of 16, our biggest in a couple of weeks, competed in the best weather conditions of late. Action was positive and very tight as usual. Big shout out to Shelly and Raymond for their co-Medalist rounds of +6. Despite their heroic efforts, neither could pull their team to victory in the FBT contests. Those wins were claimed by Rick, Clint, and Jeff on the Front and Allen, Dean, and Bob on the Back and Total. All six finished even or better for the round. Allen also earns the CTP, giving his team 3 of the 5 events. Card game goes to Raymond, Randy, Doc, and Gary who came up with 2 pair (Aces & Jacks) from their 9 earned cards. BB's Historian Leroy says we had a new record set today. After a birdie on his first hole and a +2.5 11-point performance on the Front, KZ stumbled a tad on the Back 9. A clutch putt on 18 for bogey upped his point total on the back to, let's double check here, okay, yes, 1 point. This breaks the record Leroy claims was his a

The Golfing Journey of Sparky Mullins What in the world is that you ask. What it is my fellow golfers, is an attempt by me to write a short story to possibly slightly entertain myself and possibly slightly entertain a reader or two. It is likely possible that it is a total waste of my time and anyone who reads it, but it is what it is. I once heard Neil Young describe one of his songs by saying, "It starts out real slow then fizzles out altogether." That could be an accurate description of my story as all I have is an idea, a possible ending, and new thoughts daily. I am going to make it up as I go, a chapter a week till it's over. Just like our golf games, it is best not to have too high of expectations.  The story begins after a look at Friday's play. Friday Results A sharp, brisk wind held our number down to 7 players on Friday. Scott breaks a 2-2 tie of the events by winning the CTP. Tom had several reasons why he could not play today. Although one team spent a lo

Thanksgiving 11/23

Happy Thanksgiving to all Bud's Boys and families. Thoughts are with Clint whose mother passed away Monday after 100 amazing years. Tomorrow Friday the 24th- We have our regular Tee Times! Several of us are planning to play. Work off some calories by hauling yourself around the course.  Wednesday  Ten BB's in action. Raymond, Randy, and Scott ride 5 birdies on the Back 9 to sweep FBT. Aces and sixes are good enough for them to also win the Wednesday Card Game. Jeff wins his first CTP since September to prevent a Royal Flush sweep of today's 5 events. Leroy gave 2 reasons why he didn't participate.

The first picture was taken by KZ from sunny Miami as he attended Raiders-Dolphin's game Sunday. Second picture from Doc taken today at not-so-sunny KCC. Both pictures very scary. One dollar exchanged hands at the end, so at least it was worth it to fight the elements for the winners.

Weekend Wrap Up

Doc's Day, Leroy's Week, New BB's Honor Roll All In Today's Post! Relatively small turnouts of 11 and 10 on Thursday and Friday did not diminish the caliber of play nor the excitingly tight team competition. It also did not deter the continued battering of the Bud's Boys Record Book. These new records posted this week sent me digging into the BB's archives. This endeavor results in the brand new '2023 Bud's Boys Honor Roll', listed after today's score sheets. Keep reading for all the Bud's Boys numbers you will never ever need. "There is a 100% chance that you won't shoot your best score ever if you don't play today."                                                        ----Anonymous            Thursday Nov 16 (Now known as Doc's Day) The Thursday lineup numbered 11 BB's. Two of the 11 battled to the finish in a big way on this Thursday Medalist Day.  Dean breaks out of the gate with 3 birdies in his first 5 holes

Bud's Boys Midweek Report Monday 11/13 Monday was a double celebration of Raymond's 68th BD and his official crowning as BB's reigning Champion Golfer of the Year. Raymond provided the group with a champion's menu of Ham & Beans served with cornbread and leftover Halloween candy as dessert. A variety of Yuengling products were available to quench anyone's thirst. Don't worry, Doc was driven home safely (although he didn't show up Tuesday). The Boy's gave an enthusiastic thumbs up to the quality and quantity of the meal. After the meal Raymond was presented with his freshly engraved trophy. Forever more, the name Randy 'Raymond' Balsman is etched in Bud's Boys history. Sergeant-at-Arms Leroy safely delivers the valuable prize to its new owner. Oh, by the way, there was golf played today also. Leroy wins the Medal with an amazing score of +10, 6 strokes clear of his nearest competitors. His team wins the Total. Teammate Clint's birdie o
