Weekend Wrap Up



As Halloween nears, do you remember the sometimes eerie early 60's TV show hosted by Rod Serling? He started each show with this.




It does happen our next game will be on Halloween this Tuesday. The forecast is indeed scary.


Full sunshine is good enough for me. How many of our heartier and more adventurous players will show? Looks like I will have to save my costume (Yellow shirt and hat with black shorts and shoes) for another year.

Thursday Results

A modest number of 10 BB's teed off on Medalist Thursday, a 2nd consecutive day of strong S, SW winds.

The tough conditions left the BB's fit to be tied. 

Bob and Tom tied for Medalist with +3's, the only 2 players to finish on the plus side.

Their teams also tie for Total with lame +5's.

Keith takes the CTP.

Doc has some nice pictures of Kimbeland colors, marred only by putting golfers in some of them.










Friday Play

Friday was a 4 on 4 match with Allen winning Medalist (+8) by 8 strokes over his nearest competitor.

Tom adds to his CTP lead with one more today.

    I winterized my golf cart today -AND refueled my heater . Bring it on Tuesday - see y’all Tuesday ! I will wear my very amateur golfer outfit ( scary !) !! Doc

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. St. Pat's Day Sunday 3/17

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. The person who best predicts the outcome of all the matches will get some yet undetermined special prize, fitting the magnitude of such an event. Here are the participants and their region. In the Allen Hill Regional, Allen himself will square off with Randy. The winner will face the survivor of the Glen vs. KZ matchup. In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
