Happy 75th Birthday Doc!

Doc's BD Party and Thurs-Fri Tourney Info this Edition.

Doc celebrates his 75th with a theme party. Today's Theme was 'All Bud's Boys are Winners'!

That wad of cash Doc is waving was him paying everyone's entry fee today, indeed making all players today 'Winners'. Not only that, but there were also on course prizes as well.

In the regular game, 3 teams split the money.

Shelly (+4), Leroy (+4), and Butch win the Front and tie for the Total.

Floyd captures CTP for teammates Tom and Randy, they also finish in a tie for the Back.

Glen's Medalist +6 (and game high 38 points) leads mates KZ and Bob to ties on the Back and Total.

In the Bonus Birthday prizes, the following each won a sleeve of golf balls from Doc's goody bag.

Scott CTP #4

Randy CTP #6

Butch CTP #8

Floyd CTP #18

Glen Medalist +6

Dean won an undisclosed prize in the 'Chugging' contest.

Doc also provided snacks and drinks for the Boys in a most generous show of his appreciation for being a part of Bud's Boys. More than anyone else, Doc truly 'gets' what our group strives to be. What a great day.

It should be noted that Doc blames his uncharacteristic score today on way too much cake Monday night than his trim figure could handle. Raymond blames his on 'car lag', driving back from Texas.

Bud's Boys Tip of the Day

Today's tip is very simple. 'Do not rush a short putt.'

We have all done it, in many forms and fashions, and carelessly missed.
But what's the big deal? It's only 1 stroke difference.

Ah, but what about your teammates? Let me use today as an example.

Let's say Butch has a short putt on 18, but he is in a hurry (to catch the bus, perhaps) and doesn't take his time on a very short par putt, causing him to miss. How bad could it hurt, anyway?

Well, if you lost the Back 9 by a 1/2 point, that could hurt. And if that putt had gone in you would have also won the Total instead of a tie, that could hurt. In fact, that short putt could cost your team an extra $27 today.

So, think of your teammates, don't rush a short putt.
