Bud's Boys News

Weekly results, Dexter news, and Billie Jo returns with a question for BB's.

Next Week

We will start with next week's schedule. Course is closed this Friday, so schedule your golf Tuesday through Thursday. All Tee Times start at 9:50!

Last Week

Results were posted daily, but we will recognize the standout performances.

Tuesday- Clint earns his 6th CTP, while Brandon takes Medalist (+6).

Wednesday- Rick wins his 4th CTP, Brandon goes back-to-back as Medalist (+5). The real news, however, is the Card Game.

We have had some great showdowns, but this one is hard to top. A straight up head-to-head matchup between two 4-man teams. They had split the 4 on course events, so all the money ($1) and bragging rights came down to the Card Game.

The players gathered around the table.

'Black Bart" Brandon would turn the cards for his team.

In a change of strategy, usual card turner Rodney

turned the duties over to 'Shifty' Scotty.

They took turns high carding each other until Scott hit a Diamond Flush on his penultimate card. Brandon never broke a sweat, knowing his total of 11 cards could handle that. His confidence was validated when a 4 of clubs completed the building of his full house. Game over? Not in BB's world. Beating the odds (and Brandon), Scott turned over a 6 of diamonds with his last card, filling a straight flush to seal the victory.

The group kicks back to recover from all the excitement.

Thursday-KZ becomes the 2nd 'Grand Medalist' with a +5, Dean wins the CTP.

Friday- Butch wins CTP and grabs a 1/3 of Medalist honors along with Bob and Mikey. All finished +4.

Bud's Boys at Dexter SEMO Seniors

The Boys flew into Dexter with high hopes,

but crashed a little short of expectations.

Gerald was the only BB to cash, earning $40 for a 6th place finish in his division.

Clint's 6th and Raymond's 7th finished 1-spot out of the money in their respective divisions.

Randy, Glen, Gary, and Leroy all finished south of 10th place, but we all won a new SEMO Seniors hat for our efforts.

The Kimbeland Senior Tourney is in progress, will give update next issue.

Ask Bud's Boys

Billie Jo is back with a Question.

"My boyfriend hurt my feelings on the golf course yesterday with something he said. I told him I was upset but he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about, though I know he does. I want to wrap my driver around his neck but thought I would seek your advice first."

Well, Billie Jo, we certainly sympathize with you and cannot fathom how anyone (other than mean women) would ever say anything bad about you. You have come to the right place for advice as we are teeming with experienced (old) men.

Here is what we offer. Before you ruin a perfectly good golf club, take this under advisement.

As my good friend Leroy has told me before,

"The three hardest things for a man to say are:"

1. " I was wrong."

2. " I am sorry. "

3. "Worcestershire Sauce."

If he doesn't have the courage to say 2 of the above, it is time to kick him in the Back 9 and move on. I suspect you will have no problem attracting someone else to play a round with.

Next Week's Numbers

I am a routine oriented person and last week's schedule had me way out of wack, causing me to perhaps lose a little focus. A couple of players numbers were possibly misprinted, but I have double checked results and the following list should be up to speed.

Comments

  1. Billie Jo: I say leave your driver right where it is. It looks good!
