Sunday Sept. 3

Labor Day Weekend Edition

The sun has set on yet another month, as August is already gone. 2023 is officially 2/3 complete.

Today's read includes the results from Weds. and Thurs., along with a review of August in BB's World and a contributing piece from an anonymous source.

We will start, however, with what's coming up this week.

All tee times start at 9:50

SEMO SRs. has a 2-day event on Weds. and Thurs. in Dexter. Raymond, Glen, Randy, Leroy, Gary, Marty, Clint, and Gerald will be participating in said event, so good luck to all of them. The regular BB's games will be played as usual on those days, so let's have a good turnout this week.

Also, good luck to Rick, Raymond, Randy, Tom, Gary, Gerald, Clint, and Glen as they represent Bud's Boys in the Kimbeland Senior Club Championship this coming Saturday and Sunday.

Wednesday 8/30

Wacky Wednesday worked out exactly that way. The last place team points wise earned enough cards to win the Card game, breaking them even on the day.

Brian takes his 2nd CTP of the season for his team's only victory.

Clint and Rodney are Co-Medalists at +7. By the way, in case you didn't read Tuesdays blog post, Rodney won the CTP on Tuesday.

Just making sure he gets due credit.

Gerald's +6 smokes the competition, leading his team to Front and Total victories, and a Split on the Back.

Thursday 8/31

Our last day of August went out with a bang. We tried something new today and the Boy's really went all out.

We always recognize the day's top golfer (The Medalist) each column though that is all they win, recognition. Today we designated Thursday as Medalist Day, and the winner of the day wins for his team, exactly like the CTP winner does for his team.

Naturally, everyone wanted to be the first to claim the prize.

Raymond, Keith, and Floyd thought they had a chance with +3. Sorry.

Jeff, Bob, and Westy liked their chances with +4's. Nope.

Surely, Marty and Brian coming in at +5 would be good enough. Not so fast.

Rodney finishes at +6 to claim the first..., wait. What? Allen?

Allen (+8) is our first official 'Medalist' with a paycheck.

He also won his first CTP of the year to cap off quite a day.

Our BB's budget is a little strapped, so the medal isn't quite what we wanted, but it is, of course, like a very small diamond in a ring. It's the thought that counts.

The Medalist chase brought out the best in the group today. A big total of 32 birdies were jarred on the day. Westy set the pace with 5 on the day. Randy had 4 on the front 9, while Rodney had 3 straight on 12, 13, and 14.

August Review

August had the hottest week of the year, so hot we played only one 18-hole round and a couple 10-hole events in trying to be cautious. The last week of the month, however, was one of the best weeks weather wise and it showed with big turnouts each day.

The end result was 15 days played, a total of 28 different players completing 203 rounds, almost 14 a day average.

Doc wins 3 CTP's to get back in the yearly race.

Money-wise, Randy and Westy must have had the best teammates this month while Bob and Scott obviously had the worst. Show the latter 2 a little love if you could.

Don't know about you, but I've had my fill of August!

CTP Race

Glen         12
Tom          11
Raymond 10
Doc            8
Bob            8
Jeff             7
