Champion Golfer of the Year Week

Big week ahead of us with Doc's Birthday Bash on Tuesday and our 'Champion Golfer of the Year' Tourney on Thursday & Friday. Details on both of those events coming up along with highlights of the last week including Rodney's BD party. We will start with our big year end 2-day event.

Champion Golfer of the Year

If you remember, last year's tourney was played on the 2 coldest days of the year up to that point. This week looks to be excellent weatherwise.

The tournament will be contested Thursday & Friday at our regular Tee Times. The cost for the 2-day event is $10. For your 10 bucks you get 2 days of fun play with many ways to win.

CTP's on all holes both days.

Medalist of the day wins $ as does placing in the top 4 or 5 each day depending on number of participants. Plenty of ways to win as this is not a winner take all kind of thing. Of course, the winner does get the big trophy.

Money left over after prizes goes to food and drink.

Only difference from regular play is your hcp # (see below) and since this is our 'Major' tournament, you can still noodle the ball, but only where your ball lies. No moving it to a safer spot. As usual, though, roots will not be messed with. Take free relief as close as possible.

Your hcp # is an average of your last 5 scores posted the last 5 Tuesday blogs. Our defending champ Scott has saved you (and me) the time by doing the figures for us. Your tournament # is the last column (Rounded).

Let us know if you are in.

Doc Party

Doc is sponsoring Tuesday's play. Here is the message he has sent out.

You do not want to miss the fun!

Weds. SEMO Seniors

Clint recovered from his Kimbeland Senior Tournament 'episode' shall we say, to post the top BB's performance at Jaycee on Weds. He cards a 71 net 63 to take 3rd ($45) in Super Senior Division 1.

Randy shoots 74/68 in Older Division 1.
Glen shoots 75/66 in Older Division 2.
This places them both in 8th place, each earning a hefty $10 check to be delivered in their mailboxes very soon.

The rest of the Boys did not place but did earn the admiration of those around them with their upstanding sportsmanship.

Bud's Boys Wednesday

Tom ties Glen for the CTP lead by notching his 12th of the season

Outstanding rounds turned in by Medalist Kieth with +6 and Raymond and Butch with +5.

Bud's Boys Thursday

Rodney's Birthday Party

A rather shy Rodney explains today's contests (twice for Butch).

Glen wins CTP on #4.

Randy wins #6 (full disclosure: Rodney was much closer but was not eligible for the extra prizes).

Roger wins #18.

Doc double Dips taking Medalist (+3) and hole #8 CTP.

Jeff wins consolation prize as winner of 'Most likely to cage a skunk'.

Rodney treated us to some fine eats at the end of the round.

Rodney plays well enough to join Doc and Bob in winning 2 of 4 regular events. Happy 83rd to our Senior member!

Bud's Boys Friday

Tom wins a shootout with Randy, scoring 41 points on a bogey free 5 birdie day. Randy cards 6 birds but suffers 2 bogeys to finish with 40. Randy does earn Medalist at +8, which is good because it pays just as much today as winning most points.

Tom's birdie on 10 wins the overtime Rabbit.

Clint wins the CTP, edging Shelly by a smidge. (Ed. note: Thanks a lot, Clint 😒)

Good rounds by Allen and Shelly at +4
