Washed Out Week!

At first, I thought the 'Eurhythmics' single 'Here Comes the Rain Again' was an appropriate way to describe the past week. On second thought, 'Rainy Days AND MONDAYS Always Bring Me Down' by the Carpenters fits our group even better.

Three straight nights (Tues, Weds, Thurs) Scott sent me the same text while I was lost in east Tennessee.

"No results today, rained out."

I can't remember the last time we lost 3 straight days to rain in July, but I hope it was for the best.

There was golf played Weds at Gatlinburg golf course by Shelly and me. To say the least, it was a 'hilly' venue.







Leroy claims to have found this picture of me on vacation....


but everyone knows I wouldn't wear such plain looking shorts.

A couple random thoughts from being away for a week.

Every business in the area we were staying either had 'Bear' in the name or a picture of one on their advertising. Yet the Pigeon Forge High School mascot is a Tiger.

People observing this week leads me to believe that the number of people with tattoos is nearing the same as those who don't.

Doc Returns from Canada

Despite his usual travel snafus, Doc is back in the USA.









Friday Results

Doc tries hard to re-coup some of his travel expenses by winning big as play resumed after a week's absence.


He earns Medalist with a +6 and teams up with Rick and Raymond to sweep FBT and snare the Rabbit with all 3 holing birdie putts on 11.

Clint's CTP on 18 is the consolation prize of the day.

    Great job on the blog…as usual 👍🏻😂. I noticed that u didn’t mention anything about ur scores on the hills of TN??? So I guess u tied Shelly 🤩. Deano

But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Mother's Day 5/12

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. Champion Golfer Full Coverage

Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
