7/6, 7/7 Wrap up- Pictures from Butch Fest

Finally getting around to posting results from last Thursday and Friday. But first, we have to start out with some words about the Saturday night gathering.

Here are some of my personal thoughts on the evening.

Butch and Linda have an incredible home and backyard layout.

They were incredibly gracious and generous hosts.

Really enjoyed meeting some of his family who were attending.

A great idea to invite the spouses, many I hadn't met before. (Just a coincidence that Bud's Boys seemed better behaved, I'm sure.)

Many thanks to our fish provider, Floyd, and the fish fryers, Tom and Floyd.
The fish and the side dishes brought by the group left no one hungry. 

















A really special evening weatherwise and otherwise. 
(The workout equipment in above picture explains why Butch maintains his physique and hits the ball so far.)

Thursday 7/6



For some reason, Thursday seemed to lack any excitement in scoring. Every team finished minus, minus, minus on the Front, Back, Total.
Ten of today's 14 golfers finished in the minus category. Butch and Marty claim Co-Medalist honors at a modest +2. Glen and Roger are the other 2 who finished plus with a pair of +1's, good enough to win Front and Total along with Glen's CTP.





Friday 7/7

Much, much better scoring on Rabbit Friday. Things did start slow, however, as only a couple of today's 14 birdies were on the Front allowing the Rabbit to run all the way to hole 12.

Medalist Brandon (+7), runner up Rodney (+5) and Allen did their damage on the Back with a +13.5 score, good for the Back and Total.

Doc takes the CTP, and good scores of +5 were turned in by John, Jeff, and Randy.

      Fantastic event…thanks to everyone who participated!! Food was delicious & cooked to perfection!! A special thanks must be given to Floyd for the fish & for those involved in the cooking!!👍🏻 THANKS to Butch & his gracious wife Linda for allowing us to take advantage of their lovely home & southern hospitality!!! Thanks seems inadequate but that’s all folks!!!

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Mother's Day 5/12

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. Champion Golfer Full Coverage

Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
