The scoresheets for the week are at the end of the column, but we have a couple of tidbits to share first.

I will start a sign-up sheet but you can call Butch at above number if you can't catch me. It would be very considerate to let us know if and how many are coming (Significant Others are invited).

Hot Weather Alert

Time for us to pay attention to our bodies. HYDRATE before you play and continue during the round. Do not hesitate to call it a day if you feel the least bit uneasy. Better to play another day.

Wednesday June 21

Bingo Closer Jeff hits first tee shot on Wednesday.

Card playing Wednesday had 5 3-man teams in competition. Roger's bonus birdies on 12 & 18 gives his team enough cards to win best hand. His birdie on 18 was from close enough range to also claim the CTP. His team was also involved in the first 3-way tie for Total that I can remember.

Mikey returns from the injured list to earn Medalist with +7.

Fine performances from Scott (+6) not pictured below, KZ (+6), and Val (+5) as well.





Thursday June 22



Tom invited Stan and Andy to join today's group for a little BD celebration. A DQ ice-cream cake is a great way to finish a day on the course.



On the course, the team of Jeff (Medalist +6), Bob (+5) and Leroy (+2) sweep the FBT. Jeff's 17 points and Leroy's 2 birdies give them a 1-point victory on the Front. Bob's eagle on 13 leads to victory on the Back.

Play was a little slow today. Brian tries to speed up his playing partner on 7.



Friday June 23

The day started with a pre-round presentation of the Green Team accepting their 'green' for winning Bingo II.


Rumor is they are treating on Tuesday.

On the Course

Was today a high scoring day? Well, when a team finishes at +8 and places a distant 4th, yes it was high scoring. Can't say if these are records but here are a few items of note.

Eight players scored 30 points or better.

Twelve players scored +2 or better, moving their hcp up 1.

Five players shot even or better on 1 side of the card. Tom did on both sides.

A total of 26 Birdies were recorded today, by 14 different players.

Dynamic Duos

A popular term in the 60's was 'The Dynamic Duo'!


Here are today's Dynamic Duos.

Tom and Shelly combine for 70 points. Tom's 39 are tops for the day. Shelly's 31 gives her a Medalist best +13. This earns them victory on the Back.

Doc and Clint combine for 66 points, but their team +11 doesn't win jack.

Rick (36) and Raymond (29) combine for 65 points. Add KZ's +5 and Leroy's +2 and they score +11 on Front and +16 Total for 2 wins. Rick's Birdie on 10 (he was 3-under for the round after another bird on 11) wins the Rabbit. Sharp readers will indeed notice Leroy's team wins big 2 days in a row. Add his presence in the Bingo picture above and he easily wins the "Money Hog of the Week" award.

    Congrats Shelly. I say you set the record.now we both have records: Shelly most plus points with 13. Leroy still with record low points on front nine (2).

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. St. Pat's Day Sunday 3/17

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. The person who best predicts the outcome of all the matches will get some yet undetermined special prize, fitting the magnitude of such an event. Here are the participants and their region. In the Allen Hill Regional, Allen himself will square off with Randy. The winner will face the survivor of the Glen vs. KZ matchup. In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
