Gopher Celebration A Success

The Gopher Bingo team celebrated their placement in the Bud's Boys Hall of Fame for winning the first ever 'Official' Birdie Bingo Challenge on Tuesday.




 They took their hard-earned winnings and treated those attending Tuesday with beverages and Kimbeland appetizers until all were sated (except for Floyd, Doc, and Westy who were a little late to the table).










Many thanks to Glen, Raymond, Scott, and Leroy for organizing and carrying out this much appreciated party. Special thanks to Bill and Mikey, their 2 teammates not attending, for donating their winnings for booze and fried foods without their knowledge.

Remember Friday is last day to sign up for Bingo II, birdie season opens on Tuesday 5-30. No limit on how many you bag.

Pre-party golf

On the course, 19 BB's assembled on the first tee. Medalist Floyd's +6 and teammate John's +3 went for naught in a highly competitive round today.

Rick's +5 led his team to a tie on the Back.

Plus 3's from Gerald and Leroy gives their team the other half.

Plus 5 for KZ and +4 for Marty earns the front and also a 1-point victory over 2 other teams for the Total. Marty shows off his 'Birdie Juice'.


Rodney's +4 was wasted on his under-performing teammates as they finished comfortably in 6th (last) place. Taking matters in his own hands, he wins CTP, the only way he had a chance to cash in.

Wednesday May 24

We had a bus load of Bud's Boys head north to Farmington today to participate in the SEMO Sr event at St. Francois CC. This held our number down to only 10 today, but regular Wednesday play proceeded as usual.

For now, Wacky Wednesday will now be known as 'Westy Wednesday'.
His team wins the card game once more, although the odds pretty much assured him the win today. His team accumulated 18 cards as compared to the 8 and 5 respectively of the other 2 teams.




Westy's +5 was runner up to teammate Medalist Tom's +8 (and 34 points from the blue tees). Doc's +4 (also 34 points) adds to the team total to easily sweep FBT. Clint easily wins luckiest teammate award to fill out the team roster.

Jeff prevents a Royal Flush Sweep by taking the CTP.

Doc hung out at the club a little longer after the golf.

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. New Years News Bits- Opening Day 2025 We have coverage of the first two days of the new 2025 season along with a look back at 2024. Plenty of pictures from several different contributors of the winter storm to pass your time. Maybe we should throw in a couple bucks and make your prediction of when the next Bud's Boys round will be played. It is good to be back up and running with my new computer. The geek salesman assured me this computer will be much faster. Honestly though, I seem to type just as slow as before. Thursday Lunch Proposal How about we meet again this Thursday (11:00) if there is no golf. We had a good turnout this past week and I propose we do it again this Thursday. Bud's Boys Look Back On 2024 January through June Remember Lunch Every Thursday until Golf Returns! Player of the Year Awarded! To say KZ was surprised is an understatement! 2023 POY Raymond makes the presentation. KZ's resume includes: Money Winner Net Money Winner Most Improved (+4) Medal Leader Thursday Medali$t Leader 20 game winning streak January   Opening Day 2024 was Tuesday the 2nd. Roger wins his second straight CTP but fails to join Butch and Floyd on Wednesday the 3rd. Shelly notches her 3rd career hole-in-one on Jan 11. We had 19-day layoff from the 11th to the 30th, eating was all we had to do. February Rodney wins his first CTP of the season with this gem on #18. Randy gets some revenge on hole #10 by holing out from 150 yards for an eagle on Feb 11. Feb 13th was not a Friday, but it produced a memorable day nonetheless.
