Tales from the Putting Green

I heard this today on the putting green during our pre-round warm up. No names will be given to protect the deprived.

Player A: "I just heard on the radio that American men have sex 2 to 3 times a week while Japanese men have sex 2 to 3 times a year."

Player B: "That's funny, I never knew that I was Japanese."

Tuesday 2/28

The month of February finished with 18 BB's competing on another gorgeous short sleeve shirt day. The weather must have been the biggest factor of the group's whopping +23 scoring. 

Lucky Leroy leads the charge of plus scoring players with a Medalist best +8. Special mention must go to Rodney and KeyZ at +6, and Tom and Butch at +5. Mikey chips in with +3.

Tom pours in 3 birdies on the Back 9 (4 on the day) to score 20 points to cap his game high 37 total.

Raymond edges Tom by 2 inches on 18 to gain his first CTP of the season.

Mr. February

How hot was Butch this month? On 12 today he says he would aim at the 150 marker.


Almost couldn't find his ball. Finishes the month with another big team win.
Butch started the month with his 3 straight CTP's, and despite a hot start on his return, Jeff falls well short 


of matching the now known forever as Mr. February, the 'Butcher'. Take note Butch, the month is over.

Monday Results

We did have 6 players on a mildly windy day. Gary takes Medalist honors, but he, KeyZ, and John lose 3 of 4 events to Bob, Mikey, and Randy who takes CTP.

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. St. Pat's Day Sunday 3/17

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. The person who best predicts the outcome of all the matches will get some yet undetermined special prize, fitting the magnitude of such an event. Here are the participants and their region. In the Allen Hill Regional, Allen himself will square off with Randy. The winner will face the survivor of the Glen vs. KZ matchup. In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. The Bud Marshall Regional has Scott and Roger facing off with the winner going up against the Bob vs. Tom match. T

Champion Golfer Full Coverage

Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
