Monday- Butch Goes For 4 in a Row

Butch knew he faced long odds in his quest for 4 consecutive CTP's, but when he realized this was the biggest turnout of the season (18), he felt a little outnumbered.

It didn't help that he was banished to the 5th group as he had to watch player after player tee off in front of him, knowing each one would try to make his task more difficult.

This included Jeff (thinking he was still in Florida) who rattled Butch a little by wearing shorts in February.

He shook Butch up even more when he stuffed his tee shot on 18 to within 2 feet, shrinking Butch's chances to pretty much nothing. Although he hit the green, it wasn't near close enough. He still gets the satisfaction of being one of only two Bud's Boys to win 3 straight.

Gary's 70th

The hoopla around Butch didn't stop us from celebrating Gary's 70th birthday.

Deer sausage, crackers, and beer were on the menu with brownies for dessert. When asked if he would shoot his age on his birthday he answered, "Maybe when I'm 90."

The large turnout resulted in what most of us believe was the biggest 1-day payout per player. Although we have had bigger purses, the $72 was split be only 3 players. Raymond's game high 35 points and 2nd best net score led Shelly and Jeff to sweep FBT to go with Jeff's CTP.

Scott takes Medalist for a 3rd straight day, a Floyd of sorts, although it doesn't pay near as much as a CTP.

Tuesday Valentines Day

Breezy day with chance of rain held number of participants down to 9. Jeff gave up his chance for 2 straight CTP's to be with his valentine today (we assume his wife). We finished up just before the rain arrived, putting our 5th day of play this month in the books, already more than last February.

Tom shoots 3-under on the back, racking up 21 points, giving him 37 on the day. His +4 net edges Bob for Medalist by one.

Shelly gets her Valentine gift by notching her first CTP of the year, beating her hubby with the last tee shot of the day.
