Weekend Wrap-up 12/11

Bud's Boys Notes and Stuff 12/7 Thru 12/9

Wednesday 12/7

I was only able to post results for Wednesday without comment due to time constraints, so I will toss in a few. Give Key-Z credit for a Medalist best +4, one better than Jeff's +3. Raymond stops Jeff's attempt for a Floyd by edging him out for CTP. Tom, Glen, and KeyZ win poker hand with a flush, our first decent hand since we started. Jeff's team earns 9 cards to no avail.

Also received this interesting text. 'It is appropriate that Leroy brought another team down today on Pearl Harbor Day. He has now sunk more teams than the Japs did battleships.'  Ouch!

Thursday 12/8

Course closed due to excessive rain. Being in a musical mood as I stared out the window at the falling rain, I couldn't help thinking of all the songs about rain. Here are a few of my favorites.

Have you ever seen the rain- CCR

Who'll stop the rain- also CCR

Rhythm of the rain - The Cascades

Very popular in my youth were,

Fire and Rain -James Taylor

Raindrops keep falling on my head - B.J. Thomas

Rainy night in Georgia - Brook Benton

I am sure Allen, Andy, and Rodney were getting jiggy with Gene Kelly's 'Singing in the rain.'

I suspect Leroy's favorite might be 'Kentucky Rain' by the King, Elvis Presley.

Something tells me Josh might fancy Willie Nelson and 'Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain.'

I would be interested in what the favorite rain song of our musicians Westy and Doc would be. Also, anyone else who has a favorite, give us a shout.

Friday Results

A day that ended in sunshine and no wind was a pleasant break for the 9 players assembled.
Sticking with our musical theme, a closer look at Westy reveals,

he is playing a tune on his guitar/driver!

On the course, Doc's Medalist +5 and game high 34 points were only good enough to win the Back and the Rabbit. That's because on this December 9th, remember the date- December 9th, Leroy's team takes top honors. His +3, Scott's +4, and Jeff's +2 along with Scott's CTP ends Leroy's cold spell and lands him in the plus side of the ledger. To celebrate he gifted those who stayed with a hot plate of Kimbeland Chips. Thanks Leroy, may the hot streak be just beginning.

Time is running out for this year's Christmas shopping. Make sure Santa knows what you want.

Speaking of running out of time, it's time for a CTP update. With 15 (by my count) possible days left to play this year, here is where we stand with the top 11.

Glen           14
Raymond   11
Doc            11
Randy        10
Andy          10
Jeff             10
Leroy           9
Clint             8
Westy           7
Tom              6
Scott             6

Staying with CTP as a subject, we gave Doc kudos Monday for winning the CTP in his 3rd straight appearance (Nov 28) though not consecutive with the group. What somehow slipped by was the fact he won again on Wednesday (Nov 30) for his 4th straight win! This was his 2nd consecutive with the group, and we missed that he was going for a Floyd on Dec 1. Alas, like all others before him, he tried valiantly, yet must wait for another chance down the road. Need to come up with a name for the 4 in a row on your own time. Doc slam, PD (personal Doc), DQ (Doc Quad)? Suggestions?
