November Review Plus This Week's Results

Welcome everyone to our last month of 2022. Let us hope Mother Nature gives us an early Christmas present in the form of playable conditions to finish the year.

Tuesday Nov 29

We had 14 optimistic players tee off hoping to beat the incoming rain. Butch's group no. 1 was farthest out (5 or 6) when the rain hit.

However, once they noticed the other groups heading in,

they joined the rest of us in the clubhouse. Too bad the rain came in as judging from all the talk, everyone including myself were several strokes under par on our way to career rounds. Whispers of an eagle on 3 from 100 yds out by Andy were heard (from Andy) but no witnesses confirmed. After the long delay, only Brandon ventured back out to finish his round.

Strangely, we haven't seen him since.

Wednesday November 30

The rain was gone for the last day of November, but it was replaced by frigid temps and some wind. The 13 who braved the conditions dressed accordingly.

The Elmer Fudd look.

Scoring was tough as expected. On this Poker Weds., Jeff's Medalist best +3 along with Scott's +2 and Doc's CTP wins 3 of 4 golf bets. They also take Poker hand (pair of 5's) by earning 6 cards on the par 3's.
Raymond's +2 performance (game high 33 pts), including consecutive birdies on 11,12, and 13, takes the Back 9 to prevent a clean sweep.

November Review

A bad stretch of cold and rainy weather limited us to 16 days, down 5 from 2021. Still, 32 different BB's played 241 rounds for an average of 15 per day. That included days of 25 and 23.

Scott played in 15 of those, one more than Raymond, Randy, Mikey, and Roger.

The big winner of the month has to be Brian. He shows for 2 days only and nets $24 by playing on a sweeping team. Close behind is Bill who only clocked in 4 times but still took home $20.

On the opposite side of the ledger is the newly named 'Unlucky Leroy'. Although I will not reveal the results of this streak of bad luck, I am here and now pledging, with the help of my fellow Bud's Boys, that Leroy does not have to buy a beer in our presence for the rest of December.

Hot streak goes to Raymond who raised his number from 28 to 32 on the last days of the month.

Thursday December 1

Predicted worse than Weds weather kept total of participants down to 9. However, the lack of wind and full sun made for pleasant playing conditions.
Tom's 17 points on the Front squeaks out a 1/2-point victory for his team. Randy's Medalist +6 and CTP earns the other 3 events for his threesome.

"I need one more ball to make an even 10,000 in my cart shed".

Friday December 2

A forecast of strong winds (unfortunately accurate) did not deter 14 BB's from reporting for duty. I am going to insert a sort of editorial for the many people scratching their heads as they observed us out on the course in these lousy golf playing conditions. "How can you enjoy golf in these miserable conditions?" they may ask. Here is my honest answer. Even though my team's score was the worst on the day as you can see further down, I had an extremely enjoyable day with my team. As KeyZ said, "It's a good feeling when you play bad, and your teammates are right there with you. Add to that the fact that there are 14 of us sharing this experience during and after the round, and I certainly have no regrets about playing today.
Oh, and Gary winning his first CTP 'OF THE YEAR' on the last shot of the day for my team didn't hurt either.

Scott's Medalist +4 and Jeff's +3 was enough to win FBT in spite of Raymond's hot streak ending -6.

On a day that only produced 8 total birdies, Tom's 3 on number 12 wins the Rabbit.
