 Tuesday and Wednesday Results

Tuesday

An expected full house of 20 started the day, and 19 made it to the finish line. Allen had to leave early for movie night.

John's Co-Medalist (with Scott) +3 and Tom's 37 points lead their team to 2 of 4 events and Jeff takes CTP for his team. Scott's +3 was noteworthy in his finish. Much earlier this season Dean closed his round with 9 straight back 9 bogeys. Thus, the 'Deano' was born, 9 bogeys on the back 9. When word reached Dean that Scott had tied his performance today, he noted he had also bogeyed number 9 that day, giving him 10 straight to end his day, maintaining that Scott had not achieved a true 'Deano'. With Dean's scorecard from that day long gone, we can only take his word for that, which we certainly do. However, a closer look at Scott's card settles the matter.


Scotty finishes with ELEVEN straight 'sticks', besting Dean's old mark. The 'Scotty' replaces the 'Deano'. As a witness to Scott's back 9, I feel I should add that he had to sink several lengthy character-building putts to keep the streak alive. Nerves of steel exhibition.



Wednesday

Even though several BB's were competing in Ste. Gen SEMO Seniors today, we had 16 show up for today's 'Wacky' Wednesday. 

Andy returns after a month of travelling but breaks his consecutive streak of shooting 76 with a 79. Proves a little rust can even build up on him.

Mikey earns player of day honors with Medalist high +5 and top point-getter (31). Brandon's +3 and CTP on 18 gives their team the complete four-way sweep. The winners celebrate.



In other Weds. doings, Rick tops Raymond in their head-to-head duel.

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. St. Pat's Day Sunday 3/17

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. The person who best predicts the outcome of all the matches will get some yet undetermined special prize, fitting the magnitude of such an event. Here are the participants and their region. In the Allen Hill Regional, Allen himself will square off with Randy. The winner will face the survivor of the Glen vs. KZ matchup. In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy.
