Tee Times, August Review, Thurs Results and More
Shelly and her golf buddies are not scared of a little rain as they are out playing while I am typing on this mostly damp Saturday morning. Several things on my list, we will start this submitted photo.
Two interesting characters spotted at Kimbeland. Of course, one is a stuffed animal looking thing that scares geese and small children, and the other is a fake coyote!
Tee Times Tues, Weds, Thurs all 10:06
We are likely to have a good turnout on Tuesday, so be checked in early. Weds and Thurs should be interesting because Bill, Glen, Marty, Leroy, Gary, Bob, Dean, and Allen will be doing the SEMO Senior thing in Ste. Gen. Two days of smaller groups sounds like a nice change, so take advantage if you can.
Friday Tee Time is 9:02
5-dollar Friday a tad earlier than usual, do not be late and miss the fun.
Thursday Results
We broke the 16 players into 5 teams for this Thursday edition of 5-dollar Friday (tourney on Friday). Four of the five teams got a piece of the days event winnings (not mine, of course). Allen wins the CTP for his team and birdies by Leroy and Keith catches the Rabbit for their bunch. Tom's even par 72 and Kim's +5 takes Front for them and Glen's 40 point 68 and Norm's +3 gives them Back and Total.
August Review
We were able to play 15 days in August, same as 2021. This was certainly our most attended month this year. We had 33 different golfers play a total of 245 rounds. That is an average of 16 plus golfers per day. This explains our constant yammering about being early as it is easier to organize that many players if we know you are coming.
As far as success on the course, we have the $10 Dollar Club for August. Those who won 10 bucks or more are drinking in the penthouse. Congrats Rick, Scott, Keith, Roger, and Bob.
Those who lost 10 bucks or more are cleaning glasses in the basement. Sorry Raymond, Randy, Doc, Floyd, Brian, Bill, and Marty.
Keith, after not playing with us since May, played 3 times and managed to win big all 3 times to claim August's Big Winner trophy.
Ask Bud's Boys, Rules Edition
First a rather boring question from Dave in Florida.
Question #2
This is a more local concern because it is directly aimed at the rules of Bud's Boys. During one of our rounds this week, a part time participant wondered if we adhered to the 14-club rule. I am going to turn this one over to Billie Jo.
Billie Jo: " As you know, we have a few BB's (Raymond, Mikey, and Leroy come to mind) who like to dabble and experiment with multiple clubs and we are more than fine with that, so we do not strictly enforce the 14-club limit. That being said, we do have a set number to prevent abuse. It is 'around 20'.
Would you like a peak in my bag?"
Ha ha. I get the PEAK thing. Big peaks are often called mountains. good one!
