Weds. Sept 28

I couldn't help but think of our group after reading this. Although it takes longer to putt everything out, it eliminates hard feelings, hurt feelings, or talking about other players and inconsistencies. Better Game. No 'gimme problem'. Tuesday Results Let there be no doubt, at least in Bud's Boys World, the back 9 is a tougher test than the front. There are always exceptions, but the last 2 days were eye-opening. Due to maintenance to the greens, the group played the back 9 twice on Tuesday and the front twice on Wednesday. Group total of -69 Tues. on back 9 and +2 on front 9 Wednesday. Case closed. It has been brought to my attention that combo players have 1 extra 'easy' hole on front, contributing to the outcome, but that is surely just a small part of the difference. Minus 20 scores from the other 3 teams allow Doc, Rick, KeyZ, and Bob to sweep FBT with a modest -5, E, -5 total. Add Doc's C herry on T o P  and it's a clean sweep. It has been sugge

Rodneys Birthday, Tee Times Tee Times Same 10:06 Tues-Thurs   9:00 Friday We had a 15-player turnout for Rodney's 82nd. Let's meet today's lineup. Team 1 Jeff, Rodney, and Floyd Known for their pace of play, they were an excellent choice to lead off. (They would finish about an hour ahead of Team 2. More on that later.) Team 2    Leroy, Allen, and Scott Leroy reacts to Allen's choice of color on red, white, and blue day. Due to cart trouble of an unknown source, they were unable to keep up with Team 1. Team 3  KeyZ, Bob, and Tom This group of long hitting bombers are looking to catch the Rabbit. Team 4   Shelly, Andy, and Butch This team was voted best looking group (except for Andy,....and Butch). Team 5   Randy, Clint, and Raymond (Thanks, Leroy, for standing in for Randy for photo) This group has highest quota to reach, but they are not scared. The On Course Results Rodney sponsored some extra event prizes, and here are the winners. No. 4 CTP   Raymond No. 6 CTP   Sc

Friday Tee Time 9:00 -Long Drive Contests-CTP Contests- Drinks and Food-Celebrate Rodney's 82nd What is strange looking about this photo on today's first tee? While I admit that's a loaded question considering the particular individuals captured in the frame, I am going in a different direction. What I'm going for is the jackets and long pants less than 24 hours after temps near 100 degrees! Missouri weather is so interesting. All 4 teams finish in the negative scoring column today. Could it be that the old bones didn't warm up as quickly in the cool conditions? Despite his -5 scoring today, Leroy takes MVP honors with a scintillating shot to around 12 feet on 18 to claim another CTP.

Don't forget to wear your red, white, and blue  this Friday for Rodney's BD Photo of Kimbeland clubhouse sent in by Doc before he headed to Arizona. Weds Results The two youngsters, Josh and Brandon, tie for Medalist with +6. Westy's 2nd CTP in his last 3 tries breaks tie as each team took one leg of the FBT.

You Are Invited to Rodney's 82nd Birthday Party This Friday. Tee Time 9:00 There will be food, drinks, and extra prizes on the course. Do not miss out on all the fun! Since we plan to party like the 4th of July, WEAR YOUR RED, WHITE, AND BLUE. Tuesday Results We finished with 16 golfers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, the bus left early today not allowing Butch to finish his round. Five birdies on the first 3 holes jump starts Keith, Jeff, Rick, and Clint to a front 9 victory. Clint tosses in another CTP to earn his team half of today's pot. Bob, Randy, and Raymond (today's Medalist +5) each score 17 points on the back 9 to win that event and their 7 total birdies carries them to the total as well.

Weekend Update

Doc's Birthday Bash, Weds Results, Tee Times and More! Too many tournaments lately (and more to come) have limited my blogging time recently, so we will get to last week's results right after we look ahead to tee times for the upcoming week. Tee Times  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday    10:06 Friday   9:02 Be advised Tuesday and Wednesday predicted extremely  hot! Plan accordingly. Tuesday looks to be packed, so be prepared for everything that goes with that. Wednesday we will have 8 or 9 regulars and a few of our part-timers playing SEMO Seniors at Jaycee so this would be a better option if you like a smaller group. Thursday and Friday look like great weather days. Wednesday Birdie Fest For a second day in a row, 21 players lined up to fill in the 6 team positions. Amazingly, 16 of the 21 contributed at least 1 birdie to an impressive group total of 31. Raymond was the most successful bird hunter, starting his day with birds on 1,2, and 3, finishing with an individual high of 4.

Honorable mention to Randy and Raymond for just finishing their rounds.

Tee Times  10:06 Tues, Weds, and Thursday  Course Closed Friday We have had big turnouts on Tuesday recently, so I will repeat my usual warning. If you are not early or do not give heads up on Tuesday, you may be left out. If given time, we can work out a large number. We will not redo 20 players to accommodate your lateness. Thursday Results I often marvel at the results the 'Mystery of Golf' sprinkles on our scorecards. Weds and Thurs were identical days weather wise. We had mostly the same players Thurs as we had Weds. So how do we explain the group being a sad minus 23 one day only to be followed with a smokin' plus 36 the next! On Weds, only 4 players out of 16 were plus, the same number that were -5 or worse. On Thurs, the worse score was only -2 by 3 players. We had 8 players move up by scoring +2 or better. Here is one interesting suggestion from Raymond, who said it came to him during his daily meditation session. He thinks it could be the fact that on 'Wack

Tuesday and Wednesday Results Tuesday An expected full house of 20 started the day, and 19 made it to the finish line. Allen had to leave early for movie night. John's Co-Medalist (with Scott) +3 and Tom's 37 points lead their team to 2 of 4 events and Jeff takes CTP for his team. Scott's +3 was noteworthy in his finish. Much earlier this season Dean closed his round with 9 straight back 9 bogeys. Thus, the 'Deano' was born, 9 bogeys on the back 9. When word reached Dean that Scott had tied his performance today, he noted he had also bogeyed number 9 that day, giving him 10 straight to end his day, maintaining that Scott had not achieved a true 'Deano'. With Dean's scorecard from that day long gone, we can only take his word for that, which we certainly do. However, a closer look at Scott's card settles the matter. Scotty finishes with ELEVEN straight 'sticks', besting Dean's old mark. The 'Scotty' replaces the 'Deano'. A
