So, it is only reasonable we have a big year end shootout for it to be claimed by 'Bud's Boys Champion Golfer of the Year'. The secret committee met this past week and here are some of the not yet finalized details. Will be held early October, dates TBD. Will be 2-day event. Will be played per BB's rules (not Semo Seniors). If you play ball up regularly, you can noodle the ball, you cannot move it 2 feet to get out of trash or around a tree or improve your stance. Hcp number will go up or down after 1st day as normal. Trophy goes to player with best net score over the 2 days. We are still kicking around the subject of who qualifies to enter. Birthday Bash Brings Birdies-20, then Buckets-3 Bud's Boys celebrated Leroy's 74th birthday party a day early in a daylong celebration. Those lucky enough to get an invitation were encouraged to wear yellow (or something close to yellow), Leroy's favorite color of golf attire. Thinking back to my younger days, yellow was a derogatory term in all the Westerns I watched. As in, "You gonna pull that gun or are you yellow?"   And traffic light yellow meant caution, slow down. Of course, as I got older, I learned a yellow light meant go faster. And check out this newest description of the effects of yellow. No denying the effects today as most were indeed alert and energized on course, and activity and interaction post round was something to see. The Birthday Boy provided his partygoers with a variety of Kimbeland appetizers and a couple of buckets to wash them down (Thank you, Saint Dawn, for advancing Leroy's allowance). Tom added another Bucket for backup and Ra

Bud's Boys Golf: The Thrill of Victory, And The Agony of Defeat! (Sorry, Butch) Perfect number of 15 clocked in for work on Wednesday. Doc wins his 2nd CTP in the last 2 weeks to go along with his game high 33 points. Big winners, as pictured above, Jeff, Westy, and a surprised looking Leroy. All contributed with Jeff's 17 on front, Westy's 19 on back (3 birdies in 4 holes), and Leroy's team high 30 points. This also earned Leroy Medalist for the day. Rodney's attempt at an elusive 'Floyd' comes up short. As in his ball now sleeps with the fishes. Andy does his best to console and offer advice. Dean tries to explain to Jeff that Tennessee and Texas are not the same thing (without success). Do Not Forget To Wear Yellow Tomorrow!

Back in Business, sort of Still trying to catch up on non-golf stuff, so this will be an abbreviated issue. First things first. Leroy Appreciation Day Thursday, You Must Wear Yellow! Actually, it is Leroy's birthday Friday which we will celebrate on Thursday. Still working on some details but it looks like food and beverage are possibly in play. If you show up to play and are not wearing yellow, a yet undetermined penalty will be accessed (like paying Leroy's ante, beverage buying, playing in last group, etc.). Tuesday Results Full house of 20 teed up with 3 teams getting a piece of the purse. Rodney wins 2nd straight CTP. Hope to be back to normal soon. 👈

We ended the week the way we started, another high scoring round. In fact, the group finished the 4 days of play this week at a robust +92. If someone can explain this rise in scoring, please clue me in. Highlights today include Gary +10 and Bill with +9. Bill adds another CTP to his total. Glen has game high 35 points. Tee Times July 19-22 Tues     10:06 Wed     10:14 Thurs   10:14 Friday    9:18 Blog on vacation next week. Will post only daily results.

Bud's Boys News Bill informs us that starting next Tuesday, hole 13 will be open for carts to access fairway. Let us be good role models and not abuse this privilege in any way.  Mike Kesee has re-joined Kimbeland and was back in action today with his old group. Most know that Mike has the distinction of being brother-in-law of the Bud Man himself. Since we have multiple Mike's in the group, Mr. Kesee will be known on these pages as what Bud calls him, Key Z. By the way, Key Z says Bud has a message for all of us. Simply, "kiss my a**." Good to know Bud sounds like his old self. Thurs Results Perfect number of 15, giving us 5 3-man teams gunning for victory. Players are obviously sharpening their games as all 5 teams finished on the plus side of the ledger. Impressive +4 scores turned in by Clint, Key Z, and Bill. Bill's leads his team to Back 9 win.  Part-timer DennyM takes his 1st CTP to put his team in the black. Leroy Takes Charge Thursday MVP Leroy wins Med

Scoring Rampage II Following on the heels of Friday's scoring outburst, the new week starts with another score fest. The 17 who teed off today combined for a +25. Unfortunately for 4 teams, 18 of those plus points belonged to the first group out. Medalist Marty led team at +7, runner-up Allen +6, Denny B +4, and Andy's modest +1 rounded out their scoring. This handily sweeps the FBT making them the big winners on the day. Clint repeats CTP Clint followed his Friday CTP with another today. Yes, observant reader, this gives him the rare opportunity to achieve the elusive 'Floyd' on Wednesday. For anyone new to the blog, a 'Floyd' is 3 CTP's in a row, something accomplished only once before (Coincidentally, it was by Floyd). We wish Clint good luck on his quest tomorrow. Wait, we have been informed that Clint has already announced he will not be playing Wednesday as he has an engagement that he cannot break free from. Seems Clint spends Wednesdays instructing
