   What is worse than losing by 1 point? Maybe when you are sitting inside with your more than impressive +12 on the front, only to see the last group come in with a +13. Such was the case Thursday afternoon. Kind of like holding 4 aces only to see someone lay down.....


 a Royal Flush. In fact that is now our new term for 1 team sweeping 5 events. The team of Andy, Scott, Brandon, and Allen score +13, +5, +18 for FBT. Andy's CTP and an overtime Rabbit complete the 5-way Royal Flush.

Consolations to Tom For his +8 Medalist performance, and game high 34 points in a losing effort.

Congrats Brandon for a second consecutive +6. Has the young man discovered the secret of golf? Tune in next week to find out.

New Scoring System

In an effort to more confuse our members, we are tweaking our scoring system a tad in hopes of more consistent  results. This will require dealing with 1/2 points, but we feel with a little concentration and a little help from our math department, this is a doable proposition. I understand some won't get it , but we didn't want you keeping score before anyway, so there it is.

Currently, your number is what you need for 9 holes (say 12). Now your number will be for 18 holes (now 24). If you scored +2 or better, you moved to a 13 (26 total). Now you will move to 25 points total. This means you have to get 12 1/2 points per side. WE HAVE FAITH YOU CAN HANDLE 1/2 POINTS!

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. Mother's Day 5/12

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. Champion Golfer Full Coverage

Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
