 5-Dollar Friday Results




A light turnout of 11 competed for the 5 events. Allen's Medalist winning +9, and Scott's long putt for bogey on #3, eked out a 1/2-point victory on the front for their squad.


They also take Rabbit to break even on day.

The next 3 behind Allen were teammates Stan (+7), Leroy (+5), and Brian (+4), more than enough to win Back and Total. Brian wins his first ever Bud's Boys CTP to give team 3 of the 5 events. Brian graciously bought drinks for all present to celebrate this huge achievement and encourages all Bud's Boys who were not present today to put their next several drinks on his tab. His commemorative gold watch will be delivered by UPS.

After collecting his winnings (and scoring 30 points), Leroy declares "I am not scared of anyone!"

Roger joins us on practice green Friday morning. He is doing therapy 3 days a week, gaining some stamina and speed on his walking, and hopes to start swinging a club sooner than later. Keep up the good work!

Skin Man


Jeff poses (wearing his BB's hat of course) after jarring a 100+ yard shot for eagle at a St. Louis tourney on Friday, worth 200 bucks. His tee shot Saturday on #6 contributed to another skin during Pressure Ball tourney at Kimbeland.

SEMO Senior Update

Half our 'Boys' placed Weds at Terre Du Lac. Bob takes a 2nd place finish, Gary and Deano each get a 6th spot in their flights. Leroy, Allen, and Bill all win sportsmanship awards for giving the longest putts (mostly to Bob, Gary, and Deano).

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. The person who best predicts the outcome of all the matches will get some yet undetermined special prize, fitting the magnitude of such an event. Here are the participants and their region. In the Allen Hill Regional, Allen himself will square off with Randy. The winner will face the survivor of the Glen vs. KZ matchup. In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. Mother's Day 5/12

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
